Maverick Montana Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bob Kelleher, a former Green, has spent his political career advocating “a peculiar political passion: an American parliament,” the Missoulian reports. He says “dozens of countries, including some former Soviet bloc nations, boast higher standards of living for their people, more progressive social policies and a government unburdened by the enormous power of lobbying. Their secret, he said, lies in their form of government: They all have parliaments. If America wants to emulate their success, Kelleher said, we ought to have a parliament, too.”
The 85-year-old candidate has “run as a candidate on this platform for 44 years and lost 14 times under Democratic, Green Party and Republican banners” before his “surprise victory in the Republican U.S. Senate primary race” this year.

and are unable to understand and use the less complicated and more simple metric system!
Parliamentary system is probably preferable to the system we have. However, it is simply untrue that loads of other countries (if any) have higher standards of living than the U.S. So long as foreigners will keep on accepting worthless pieces of paper for the fruits of their labor, lazy Americans will continue to live high on the hog.
He would only be 91 at the end of his first term. Good, the guy brings some youth to Washington!
I hope this guy wins.
The entertainment value would be golden.
