Arlington, VA Green Party to hold candidate convention

From the Sun Gazette:

The Arlington County Green Party will hold a candidate convention as part of its next monthly meeting, to be held on Wednesday, March 3 at 8 p.m. at Silver Diner on Wilson Boulevard.

Candidates interested in seeking either the nomination or endorsement of the party for County Board, School Board or 8th District U.S. House of Representatives should contact Kirit Mookerjee at (540) 424-8373 or e-mail [email protected].

“The Arlington Green Party believes in more choices and more voices for Arlington County residents on the ballot,” Mookerjee said. “County residents who are interested in running for office and helping the Arlington Green Party continue to build a strong, progressive political alternative in Arlington should present their candidacies at our next monthly meeting.”

In recent years, the party has fielded candidates for County Board and House of Delegates. Last year, Green Party County Board candidate John Reeder received more than 30 percent of the vote against Democratic incumbent Jay Fisette.

Run a full slate of Independent/Green candidates across Virginia.

    That’s the ticket.

    Thanks for story.

Run a full slate. Let everyone in the county vote a straight green ticket.
