Former LexisNexis Account Executive and current Glendale, AZ resident Suzie Easter is running for Arizona State Representative in Legislative District 22.
Suzie Easter began considering a run for state legislator a few years back but would not officially run without an independent suggestion. Well, exactly that happened in mid-2013. Someone suggested that she run for either state representative or state senate and the suggestion was seconded.
Running as an Americans Elect of Arizona candidate, Suzie is a strong supporter of the U.S. Constitution, supporting liberty, small government, low taxes, and fiscal responsibility. She also supports term limits, no state income tax, eliminating government pensions, and being a true representative for and servant of the constituents of Legislative District 22.
According to Suzie, “being a representative of the people is not a job, it is a duty for which one has been elected to serve. Therefore, we should receive no pension, no perks, no favors, and a small stipend. In other words, we must also maintain our jobs to support our families and lifestyles. This will force us to do the limited duty for which we are elected and discourage those who wish to be elected for personal gain.”
“In addition, when we are presented with a bill, ample time must be given to read it, understand it, and then to discuss openly with our constituents. If this opportunity is not given, then we must vote no. It makes no sense to vote yes to something you haven’t read, you don’t understand, and for which constituents have had no voice.”
Suzie would greatly appreciate the opportunity to work alongside constituents to make sure they are part of the process and that their concerns and suggestions are considered when discussing issues with other representatives and in her votes.
