Ferguson, 39, said Monday that he is attracted to the Libertarian’s message of limited government and protection of civil liberties and private property.
He said he believes government should be built around accountability and responsibility, while not infringing on the personal rights and freedoms of the individual.
“I like the idea of getting rid of useless laws.”
Ferguson has previously run for local and provincial office, also as a Libertarian, and will be contesting the newly created riding of Brantford-Brant in southern Ontario. The Libertarian Party of Canada had 23 candidates at the last federal election, in 2011, out of 308 seats (set to increase to 338 in the Oct. 19, 2015 election).

Hopefully he will do better then the Canadian Libertarian’s did in 2011. Its been several parliamentary elections since a federal candidate has received even 1% of the vote
