(Indianapolis) After a Pride filled weekend in Indiana, the weekly news cycle is lead by an issue of extreme import to the LGBTQ community. The Mayor of South Bend came out as the states highest openly gay elected official.
It is sad in this day and age that someone has to hide for so long, the Mayor released a nice press release explaining why he felt this was appropriate.
The Libertarian Party has supported equal rights in LGBTQ issues since 1971 and we are glad to see some of our foundation platforms becoming part of mainstream society. Congratulations Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
Funny how all this sudden honesty happened six weeks *after* his primary election victory. I guess he didn’t want to risk being honest when voters actually had a chance to weigh in.
