The national press club is an ideal location for this kind of announcement by a third-party candidate, IMO. It’s a bit unclear though — is she seeking the Green Party nomination (running for that), or is she already the nominee? While I’m virtually certain it is the former, it doesn’t seem clear from this press event what exactly was announced.

It’s just the launch of her candidacy for the nomination, but since that’s effectively guaranteed and the national GP is already promoting her, she’s basically going straight into a general election-focused campaign. That’s probably why the materials don’t put the focus on seeking the nomination.

That seems to be the gist of it, anyway. There will still be a Green nominating convention, I’m assuming. I can’t find anything about a date/location being set for it yet, though. Either way she is not the nominee yet, formally.
