LNC: Social Media Process Review Committee

Daniel Hayes to LNC:

The 3 LNC members of the Social Media Process Review Committee held a conference call on Friday, April 28th, 2017. We selected the two other members of the committee. We have chosen Elizabeth Van Horn of Ohio and Alison Foxall of Florida. Both have enthusiastically accepted their appointments. Both have highly relevant experience and insight and we look forward to working together.

I will be serving as Chair for our first full meeting. Mr. Bittner is slated to chair the meeting following that one. Once the committee members have all gotten to know each other better we will select a permanent chair.

The committee is now comprised of Brett Bittner, Alison Foxall, Daniel Hayes, Steven Nekhaila, and Elizabeth Van Horn. Once the full committee has met we will start formalizing our plans regarding moving forward. We anticipate very widespread involvement and consultation with many others as we develop our recommendations for the LNC.

  1. Daniel: But I think we know that if whatever process (including personnel and their views and motivations) leads to a lot of complaints (or kudos) and media attention that LP content (wheree ver it is) will get more consideration than non-controversial issues.

    It’s all politics, after all.

Which reminds me, just because posting the LP Abortion plank brings in 500 barely libertarians abortion prohibitionists screaming their heads off does NOT mean there are bad processes or bad libertarians involved. (Though obviously some memes can be off target.)

    Carol,

This Committee’s scope is dedicated to reiew the PROCESSS of how things are posted to the National LP Facebook page. Specific content is outside of our purview.

  3. How about NOT dissing secession as being something statist in future memes or any other material. It was in the platform for year, it’s assumed under “right of people to alter or abolish government” current plank and it’s still covered under omissions.

Glad to hear that Elizabeth Van Horn has been added to the committee.
