This upcoming weekend, the Pasadena Convention Center will host the third annual Politicon. This is a nonpartisan 2-Day event for political junkies. There are many political media figures who will be there, along with past, current and upcoming candidates for office. IPR readers might remember Austin Petersen, who ran for the Libertarian Party’s presidential nomination in 2016 (now running for office as a Republican). He will be speaking. Ballot Access expert Richard Winger will also be a featured speaker, along with Christina Tobin.
The local Libertarians, mainly from the Pasadena/Glendale Region but also from all over Los Angeles, will host a booth in the vendor area. If this year is like last year, the booth will be quite noticeable and inviting to the attendees. They will have a large area with sofas and chairs for people to lounge. There will be games and giveaways. It is this writer’s observation that this group will make sure the party is happening at the Libertarian Party booth!
It should come as no surprise that none of the other political parties there offered an outreach area anything like the LP’s.
I wrote for a Press Pass, and was recently notified that my request has been granted. I’m planning to be there all day Saturday, and perhaps part of Sunday if my health holds up. I might post here during the event, and I’ll write something up for IPR early next week.
To my knowledge, tickets are still available. Here is the website for the event:
Here are a couple photos from last year:
