Alliance Party February 2021 Newsletter

The Alliance Party sent out the following newsletter yesterday updating email subscribers on the latest party news for this month:

State of the Party

One of the traditions in our household at the new year, is to have every family member pick a one-word theme that will serve as a focal point and rallying cry for them, and that will be used as a reminder and as reinforcement of our individual and collective commitment to helping one another achieve our objectives for personal growth. In reflecting on 2020, it was clear that the exigencies of the times changed the themes for all of us as individuals, families, and communities, into ones of Isolation and Loss, but also Perseverance and Adaptability. For the Alliance Party, the theme that emerged from our year was Opportunity.

We created opportunities to grow our party both organically through the creation of new Alliance Party affiliates in Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, North Carolina, and Rhode Island, as well as through affiliation with established state parties such as the Independence Party of New York, the American Delta Party of Delaware, and the Reform Party of Florida.

We seized opportunities to maintain continuity and move our party forward under new leadership with the elections of a new National Chair in Darcy Richardson and Vice Chair in Jonathan Etheridge.

We realized opportunities to run our first Presidential ticket of Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente and Darcy Richardson, in which we achieved recognition as the fifth largest party by share of the vote in less than two years of organizing. With this success, we have made our mark and established our place in the mid-majors with the dual advantages of unprecedented progress and unrivaled momentum.

In looking ahead to 2021, my theme and word for the Alliance Party is Intentionality.

We will be intentional in our growth, ensuring that it continues to be growth that is sustainable and that we are proud of. Growth that does not require us to compromise on our values, principles, or long-term strategic vision.

We will be intentional in driving our electoral performance, recruiting, fostering, and empowering candidates that will be the new public servant we need and to do so by competing at all levels of government to offer Americans a better alternative.

We will be intentional in building a better party in order to build a bigger party. One that represents the best interests and needs of all Americans in our bold, problem-solving agenda. One that represents our citizens by being diverse in our makeup; inclusive in the way we listen, discuss, decide, and act; and a champion for equity in our political, social, and economic systems.

On behalf of the Alliance Party’s national leadership team, I want to thank each of you for your contribution in creating the opportunity for us to grow our influence with the aim of healing and strengthening our political systems, and I hope that you will reaffirm your intention, and reinforce your commitment, to keep the progress going as we lean into the coming year.

Jonathan Etheridge

National Vice Chair

We Need Your Help!

In order for us to keep up with our expansion, and grow even more we need a software platform called Nationbuilder . This is a fully-integrated software solution designed specifically for politics to help us streamline our organization and keep up with the technology of the two ruling parties.

This will help us organize and reach the right people with timely messages effectively targeted to our most engaged donors, advocates and supporters- the people who will help grow our community and scale the Alliance Party,

This integrated software platform also provides fundraising capabilities, social media marketing, polling, online petitions, and much more. Data management has proven to be the key to winning. This proven recruitment tool will also grow our grassroots leadership and add candidates to our team.

  • Dr. Oscar Lovelace on Healthcare

Dr. Oscar Lovelace, a rural physician from Prosperity, South Carolina, talks about the challenges of providing good healthcare in a rural environment, the state of healthcare in America, and the idea of medicare of all. Though we originally released this recording on February 9, 2020, the healthcare issues discussed in this interview are perhaps even more relevant today.

Dr. Lovelace was named the “National 2015 Family Physician of the Year” in recognition of his outstanding work over many years of dedication to the practice of medicine. In 2003, he was appointed by then Governor Mark Sanford to serve as state-wide co-chairman of the Health Care Task Force. In 2004, he served on the Lieutenant Governor’s Commission on Aging. In 2006, Dr. Lovelace challenged the current state governor during the GOP Primary and though the incumbent prevailed, he managed to get over 35% of the vote.
