Early Friday afternoon, the official Twitter account of the Libertarian Party was compromised by a private individual who has since changed its name and bio.
The username of the Libertarian Party’s Twitter account now reads “Tyler Hobbs,” the presumed individual responsible for compromising the Twitter account. The bio also reads, “Visual artist working with algorithms, plotters, and paint. Sometimes I write about art on my site. Creator of Fidenza, co-creator of QQL.”

It is unknown if this was deliberate or if the current owner came to access the Libertarian Party’s Twitter account through third-party means. It is not uncommon for private information to be harvested and sold on the dark web. The exact time the individual came to possess the account is also unknown; however, they began posting content consistent with Hobbs around 1:00 PM EST.
Per Tyler Hobbs’ professional website, he is “a visual artist from Austin, Texas who works primarily with algorithms, plotters, and paint.”
Fidenza, the company referenced in the Libertarian Party’s Twitter bio, is a specific generative algorithm designed by Hobbs. “QQL,” the other entity referenced by Hobbs, is associated with non-fungible tokens (NFTs) or cryptographic assets purchased and sold on the blockchain.
It is unknown if Tyler Hobbs is associated with the Libertarian Party or if this compromise relates to current events inside Libertarian circles. Independent Political Report has reached out to Tyler Hobbs for comment and will add further information to this article as it becomes available.
As strange as it sounds, yes. A few weeks back, the campaign manager for Jeremy Kauffman spoke out on social media that both National and “LPMC leadership” privately demanded LPNH to remove members of its communication team because donors were upset with LPNH messaging. The conversation resulted from pushback aimed at Michael Malice, who went to bat for Meghan McCain after LPNH made commentary about her.
JWE: “Recent friction between LPNH members and the LNC further lends credibility that what the LPNH is doing in this instance is intentional.”
Recent friction between the Mises-controlled LNC and the Mises-controlled LPNH?
The account is finally back in the hands of the Libertarian National Committee. I’m genuinely surprised that it took as long as three days for Twitter staff to rectify this situation. Since publishing this article, I’ve also learned that other major accounts (including a political party in India) were compromised. The difference seems to be that they regained access much quicker than the Libertarians.
Got it …. I just started typing “Libertarian” into Twitter and I say the same icon. Makes sense over all the Mises caucus stuff.
Maybe THAT is it? Not just his NFT angle???

Nother subject. I emailed you yesterday. Y’all haven’t run anything yet about the Judge Pitman ruling here in Tex-ass. https://socraticgadfly.blogspot.com/2022/09/judge-pitman-just-fucked-over-third.html
Hey SG, I looked into LPNH after seeing your response. It does not appear to be the same type of circumstance. The owners of the @LPNH account look to be parodying what happened to the @LPNational account and are largely self-aware. Recent friction between LPNH members and the LNC further lends credibility that what the LPNH is doing in this instance is intentional.
NOT just national…. LP NH, at least, also hacked.
Whoever he is, he knows very well what he is doing; as he has disabled replies to all new tweets upon his takeover.
