A Great Opportunity for All Third Parties
By a vote of 290 to 137, Congress voted to order rail unions to accept the contract terms that Congress chose. Yes, that’s forced labor, slavery, albeit on terms more generous than offered most slaves. The core issue is sick leave. Rail unions wanted two weeks of paid sick leave in a year. They didn’t get sick leave, and were ordered by Congress to work without it.
If workers strike, there will be legal penalties for them and their unions.
That’s forced labor…conscription.
The important third parties agree: Since its inception, the Libertarian Party has opposed conscription. The Green Party believes that Health care is a right, a right that is challenging to exercise if you are not allowed sick days. The Constitution party opposes compulsory military training or any other form of compulsory government service, such as forced labor on the railroad.
For the 2024 Election, every Third Party with a Presidential Candidate can use the same slogan:
Just say NO! To StrikeBreaker Joe!

I have been trying to find this, and will report if I do.
Really? An issue for 2024 with a slogan? This event is already far in the rearview mirror. Third parties need to address whatever 4 or 5 issues will be prominent in Fall 2024, not some minor event that everyone except a few railroaders have forgotten.
An important factor is what the penalties are for the railroad workers if they do not work after being ordered by Congress to do so.
It isn’t forced labor if they can quit. That isn’t me defending government involvement. Libertarians support the freedom to negotiate as individuals or as groups. That is the issue with which the government is interfering. Rhetoric that stretches so far beyond that into ‘conscription’ or ‘forced labor’ territory allows the listener to dismiss the message in its entirety on the grounds that it isn’t true.
