Free and Equal to Host Conversation with Libertarian, Green, and Constitution Party Nominees on the Future of American Politics

Free and Equal’s Christina Tobin, Free Thought Project co-founder Jason Bassler, and George Balloutine of The Big Mig Show will host a live conversation this Wednesday with the three confirmed candidates attending Free and Equal’s fourth presidential debate later this month.

The conversation will be broadcast by the Free and Equal Elections Foundation as an X space on Wednesday, October 8. Tobin, Bassler, and Balloutine will lead the discussion, which will include Libertarian Party nominee Chase Oliver, Green Party nominee Dr. Jill Stein, and Constitution Party nominee Randall Terry. Former U.S. Comptroller General co-founder David Walker and “Joe from Texas,” a sponsor of the upcoming debate, will also join the conversation.

Editorial note: A recording of Wednesday’s conversation is available here.

Although the specific subjects to be discussed have not yet been disclosed, advertising and promotional material produced by the Foundation suggests that the primary focus will be on the future of American politics.

Oliver, Stein, and Terry confirmed last month that they will participate in a live presidential debate hosted by the Free and Equal Elections Foundation and co-moderated by Tobin and Walker. The debate will be held on October 23 in Los Angeles, California. Organizers initially invited seven candidates, including former Republican President Donald Trump, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, Party for Socialism and Liberation nominee Claudia De la Cruz, and independent candidate Dr. Cornel West; however, only three have thus far confirmed their attendance.

Hurrah! They must have changed something on their end, because both the links now work.

I don’t think it’s that, because the first link yielded exactly the same error not only before and after, but also during the time the stream was scheduled to take place (5:30 PM PDT, Wed Oct. 9).

Rather, I suspect they forgot to set Spaces to public or something like that, so that only people signed into Twitter/X could view it. That is (or, at least, used to be) a thing, apparently. But it might also be a problem with ad blocking, cookie settings, etc.

However, none of that accounts for why they continue to keep it Twitter Xclusive (pardon my terrible pun). I can’t imagine Twitter/X paying F&EE for exclusive rights to a promotional event for their upcoming actual debate. Nor does it seem very in keeping with F&EE’s mission statement to accept any kind of exclusivity deal. So who knows what’s going on.

Some links change over time so that might be why. Like, the link would have worked if you clicked on it then but it was uploaded elsewhere and taken down there , or wherever it’s hosted is still the same but they changed their name internally within the site’s file system – I’m probably using incorrect terms , it’s been a few years and my life has been chaotic in recent years so there’s a lot I forgot .

In the latter case the machine equivalent of the URL which is made up of only numbers and dots would still be the same while in the former they would be different – based on whatever remains of my memory.

There could be other reasons, sites have intermittent outages and connection problems for various reasons

    Thank you, Jordan.

Unfortunately, that new link doesn’t show me anything but the first link (which itself still gives “Something went wrong. Please try again later.”) above a gray box with the words “Spaces Details not available” in it.

I don’t know why they don’t just upload the recording to their Rumble or YouTube, or someplace else. But oh well, if they don’t want people to see it, then let them have their way.

I’m unable to embed X spaces; however, a link to a recording of the conversation has been added above.

    Riveting stuff:

“Something went wrong. Please try again later.”

ASP once again ignored by F&E.
