The Pacific Green Party of Oregon will convene remotely for its 2025 Winter Convention next month. Voting members will elect four new representatives to the State Coordinating Committee and deliberate on other party business.
The party first announced the convention in June 2024, specifying at the time that it would take place over Zoom on January 25, 2025. To qualify as a voting member, individuals must have registered with the party by December 26 and either made a proportionate financial contribution within the past year or completed verified volunteer work. For those opting to volunteer, hours must have been reported to the party Secretary by an officer or local chapter. The party also confirmed that auxiliary members—those not yet old enough to vote or undocumented residents of Oregon who cannot otherwise be listed by the Secretary of State—are welcome to observe the convention.
Although a full agenda has not yet been released, the Pacific Green Party confirmed that members will elect four new representatives to the State Coordinating Committee, the seven-member body responsible for statewide party operations. Voting for the State Coordinating Committee will also be conducted using Single Transferable Voting. Additionally, members will select three delegates to represent the party at the next national meeting of the Green Party of the United States.
In addition to elections, the party has been accepting proposed agenda items and presentations from members for discussion at the convention. The deadline for agenda item submissions was December 26, 2024. Further details about the convention are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
