Freedom Voter News, a new publication dedicated to liberty-oriented political groups and topics, released its inaugural issue over the weekend. According to a press release, the newspaper aims to spotlight pro-liberty political parties, their candidates, and the activities of these groups.
The release, submitted to Independent Political Report this week, outlines that Freedom Voter News will focus on liberty-oriented parties operating both domestically in the United States and internationally. The first issue includes discussions about the Liberal and Libertarian Parties, along with highlights of various electoral performances by pro-liberty candidates during the 2024 election cycle. Additional information is available on Third Party Watch. The full release, as received, is published below:
As reported on Third Party Watch, interested libertarians launched a new news magazine “Freedom Voter News.” George Phillies was electronic publisher of the first issue, but he does not plan to continue in the Editorial role.
“The objective of Freedom Voter News is to report on good news about pro-liberty political parties, their candidates, and other activities. Freedom Voter News will target pro-liberty voters who are not interested in ‘inside baseball’ news of party internal politics. Our objective is to keep voters aware of the good things that pro-liberty third parties are accomplishing. We anticipate some coverage of pro-liberty parties around the world and some discussion of how people who want to do so could become more active in politics, but our main effort is bringing good news to potential pro-freedom voters.
Freedom Voter News is looking for volunteer reporters to supply us with news of positive pro-freedom news in their state. For the moment, send your news to [email protected]. We anticipate that there will soon be an Editor-in-Chief with his own plans, but we have not yet reached that stage.
We are aware that many third party efforts have been infiltrated by all manners of crackpots, alt-right activists, and the like. For the most part, we simply will not give these people a platform for their ideas.”
Editorial Note: Prof. George Phillies is a member of Independent Political Report’s editorial team. He was neither consulted for nor contributed to this article. Freedom Voter News is not affiliated with Independent Political Report.

This is a joke, right?
“According to a press release, the newspaper aims to spotlight pro-liberty political parties”
So just the Constitution Party, the American Independent Party and Christian Liberty Party then…? Perhaps the Alaskan Independence Party, the Mises Caucus and whatever other LP members Ron Paul and Spike Cohen can gather around themselves? Maybe a small Laura Ebke-affiliated delegation from the Liberals? And literally one or two stray Reform Party members who took a wrong turn at Albuquerque?
“Freedom Voter News will focus on liberty-oriented parties operating both domestically in the United States and internationally”
Sounds like the majority of coverage is going to be about Slavic countries plus Hungary then, with some honorable mentions of Israel, Brazil, Africa and the banned/exiled diaspora parties of Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Libya and China.
“We are aware that many third party efforts have been infiltrated by all manners of crackpots, alt-right activists, and the like. For the most part, we simply will not give these people a platform for their ideas.”
Oh silly me, I almost took your marketing seriously until then…
The Liberal Party isn’t even close to advocating freedom. George Phillies doesn’t either, for that matter.
