The National Committee of the Constitution Party voted over the weekend to recognize the Constitution Party of Indiana as the party’s newest state affiliate.
The National Committee met in Manchester, New Hampshire, this past Friday and Saturday for its Spring National Committee Meeting. Officers and local members gathered at the Best Western Executive Court Inn, where the party conducted standard business, discussed organizing strategies for the year ahead, and participated in local tours organized by the party. Robert Brown of the John Birch Society delivered the keynote address.
As part of the business portion of the meeting, members of the National Committee voted to formally recognize a new state affiliate in Indiana. The party also announced the affiliation publicly on social media following the vote.
Details about the new organization’s leadership and an official website have not yet been announced. However, the national party currently lists Father John Sasse as the state contact. The new Indiana affiliate is also under the oversight of Paul Venable, who serves as the party’s Midwestern States Chairman.
The Constitution Party previously had an Indiana affiliate, though that organization had been largely inactive since the end of last year. Its last known social media activity dates to late 2024, and its most recent public notice for an organizational meeting was issued in 2021. Independent Political Report is unaware of when the previous group formally lost recognition or what connection, if any, the newly recognized organization has to members of the earlier party.
The ballot access requirements in Indiana are pretty difficult so I am skeptical that they will obtain ballot access.
