Forward Party Names New Senior Directors for Communications and Political Strategy

The Forward Party announced this week that it has named John Goodwin and Kayla Berube to senior director roles, expanding its national leadership team ahead of the 2026 election cycle. Both will report directly to Forward Party CEO Lindsey Drath.

The party made the announcement in a statement on Thursday, with Drath describing both as instrumental to the organization’s long-term strategy. She said the additions come as the Forward Party continues to build internal infrastructure to support candidates running outside of the “failing two-party system” who prioritize service to country over party.

“Goodwin and Berube are two of the brightest talents in their fields and will take Forward to the next level for long-term success,” Drath continued. “With this team, we will help America’s exhausted majority have more choices on the ballot and take back power from the stranglehold of the legacy parties.“

Goodwin will serve as the party’s communications director, overseeing messaging development, media relations, social media strategy, and surrogate engagement. According to the party, he brings more than two decades of experience in political and corporate communications, having held senior roles at The Weather Channel, TiVo, and Poly. He previously served as chief of staff and communications advisor to Republican members of Congress and has worked on public affairs strategy for various organizations.

Berube, the party’s new political director, will oversee candidate recruitment, ballot access efforts, and state party development. She has more than 15 years of experience running large-scale grassroots campaigns and previously served as executive director of the Hawaii Republican Party. Her past work includes managing Patrick Morrisey’s 2020 bid for attorney general in West Virginia and coordinating ballot access for Scott Walker’s 2016 presidential campaign.

In addition to campaign work, Berube has led data modeling, voter targeting, and audience development projects for advocacy groups during her time at i360, Tunnl Data, and an unnamed national trade association.
