Libertarian Party of Florida Launches 2026 Convention Theme Contest

The Libertarian Party of Florida has opened its annual Convention Theme Contest, inviting members and supporters to help shape the tone of its 2026 state convention. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward convention preparations.

In an email to supporters on Wednesday, Beth Johnson, chair of the party’s Convention Committee, announced that participants may submit theme ideas or vote for their favorites, each with a minimum donation of $25. Johnson noted that last year’s contest raised more than $2,000 for the party, with some previous years bringing in even more.

“This fundraiser is not only a fun way to get involved,” Johnson wrote, “it’s also one of our most effective early boosts for convention funding.”

According to details on the party website, eligible submissions must avoid profanity, copyrighted material, and references to specific individuals by name. The Convention Committee reserves the right to reject entries that do not meet these standards, while retaining all donations made in the process.

As planning for the 2026 convention continues, Johnson said further announcements, including keynote speakers and special events, will be released in the coming months. In the meantime, she added that the Libertarian Party of Florida is offering discounted merchandise from its recent 2025 convention to generate additional funds.
