Forward Party to Endorse 26 Candidates for 2025 State Elections

The Forward Party has announced that it will endorse 26 candidates running in elections this November. It issued the first of these endorsements on Tuesday, backing two Virginia legislative candidates, with more names to be released in the coming weeks.

The national organization shared its plans in a September 6 email to supporters, stating it would roll out the endorsements over the course of the month. According to email details, all candidates are running “outside of the two-party system,” suggesting they are either running under the Forward Party label or as independents, as the party also regularly backs candidates associated with the two major parties.

“No other organization is actively recruiting and supporting leaders like this—because no one else is willing to challenge the broken rules that keep voters silenced and shut out,” the email read.

The party announced the first of its endorsements in an August 9 statement on social media, backing two Virginia House of Delegates candidates running under the Forward Party label.

Kristin Farry, who is described by the party as a “cross-partisan problem solver” with an array of practical experience and commitment to bridge-building, is running in House District 72 against incumbent Republican Delegate R. Lee Ware Jr. and Democrat Randolph Critzer Jr. Meanwhile, Brandon Givens, described as a “democracy defender” with a background in education and a history of advocating for pragmatic political reforms, is challenging incumbent Democratic Delegate David Bulova and Republican Adam Wise in House District 11.

As endorsements are made, they will be added to a list maintained on the Forward Party national website of all candidates backed in the 2025 cycle. That list includes six earlier named individuals unrelated to the current round who are running in municipal and legislative races across Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Those candidates are a mix of Forwardists, independents, nonpartisan candidates, and one Republican incumbent state senator running for reelection in Colorado with the party’s support.

In addition to its 2025 endorsements, the Forward Party says it will continue recruiting candidates for the 2026 cycle, including those running in primaries of other parties, local races, and statewide contests.
