The Libertarian Party of Maine will hold its annual state convention this weekend in Hallowell, with delegates electing new party officers, reviewing bylaws, and discussing strategic planning goals for the coming year.
The convention will take place Sunday, November 16, at the Maple Hill Farm Inn and Conference Center. Registration is required, with the party charging for admission. The party also plans to livestream the event, though remote voting will not be permitted.
“Join us for our 2025 convention,” the party said on an event page promoting the event. “We will be electing Executive leadership positions, Judicial Committee and Delegates for the LNC convention happening in Grand Rapids May 21–26, as well as give an overview of what we’ve been up to this year. Cash bar and lunch will be available.”
According to the agenda, during the first half of the day, delegates will hear a State of the Party update from current officers and review proposed amendments to existing bylaws. There will also be presentations on technology and strategy led by Treasurer Jason Mataafa, Western Region Representative Joe Petrocy, and Southern Region Representative Dane Courtois, and updates to social media and public relations policies.
Following a lunch break, the convention will reconvene for recognition of lifetime members and elections for Executive Committee officers, Judicial Committee members, and national convention delegates. Both breakout sessions and a guest speaker are scheduled for later in the afternoon, with the party tentatively suggesting Pat Ford, the region 6 representative on the Libertarian National Committee, though it has not confirmed who as of this article.
