There was a special election in Kentucky’s State Senate District 37 this week to fill a vacant seat. The three candidates appearing on the ballot were Democrat Gary Clemons, Republican Calvin Leach, and Libertarian Wendy Higdon.
Clemons overwhelmingly won with about 72% of the vote. The previous senator was David Yates, a Democrat who resigned in October after being appointed Jefferson County Clerk. Results from the Kentucky State Board of Elections below:
