Conservative Party of Delaware Becomes State Affiliate of the American Solidarity Party

The Conservative Party of Delaware has voted to become an affiliate of the American Solidarity Party, according to a statement this week by National Committee Chair Jack Ternan.

In his March 4 statement, Ternan said affiliation discussions between the two groups began in January, when the National Committee of the American Solidarity Party adopted a resolution outlining the conditions and process the Delaware party would need to follow. While Ternan did not detail those terms, he said the Central Committee of the Conservative Party of Delaware met on February 27 and voted to adopt a resolution of their own accepting those conditions and executing a formal agreement.

“Accordingly, I am pleased to announce and recognize that the Conservative Party of Delaware has become a state party affiliate of the American Solidarity Party,” Ternan stated. “I appreciate the hard work of James Sloven and the rest of his state committee in making this affiliation possible.”

A map of state chapters on the American Solidarity Party’s website lists 20 active state chapters prior to the Delaware affiliation. The site also indicates that the party is organizing chapters in 18 additional locations, none of which previously included Delaware.

With the new Delaware affiliate, the American Solidarity Party also gains access to another state ballot line. While Independent Political Report is unaware of the Conservative Party being active during the 2025 municipal cycle, in 2024, it nominated Jon Roe for Delaware’s 2nd Senate District and placed the U.S. Pirate Party-backed ticket of Vermin Supreme and Jonathan Realz on its presidential line.

As of publication, the Conservative Party of Delaware has not yet issued a separate statement regarding the affiliation. An original website associated with the organization is no longer active, though there is a new website identifying itself as the party and linking to its Facebook page used during the 2024 general election.

On that site, the party includes a brief statement on its future purpose and criticizing the definition of “conservatism” within the Republican Party under Donald Trump and the Make America Great Again movement. The party denounces the modern culture as “toxic” to state Republican organizations and argues it has contributed to Republican losses in Delaware’s legislature.

“The Conservative Party of Delaware aims to reverse that trend by offering conservative candidates an alternate means to ballot access without the gatekeeping of Delaware’s MAGA Republican minority,” the statement reads.
