“Unqualified? He?s the Director of a political survey center. He?s certainly more qualified than ?some aides?.”

Kennedy’s opinion that he is drawing his support about 2-1 from people whose second choice is Coakley is qualified by actual numbers from Rasmussen. https://independentpoliticalreport.com/2010/01/rasmussen-polls-again/

How did the director qualify his opinion? “My sense”. Did he do any polling on this? No.

“You linked to an article with an independent ?agenda? that had no real information.”

It has tons of real information. Read the whole thing?

“I?d love to see the full quote cause I could easily presume that he?s going to show Washington how it FAILED here.”

Nonsense. He’s proud of his role in RomneyCare. The Cloud/Howell and Kamenetsky article spell this out.

“You also quoted a response to an article that doesn?t break down the poll as you copy and pasted. Where is the Rasmussen link?”

    In that article. DUH.

“Libervention? yes, if you were fighting for me in some foreign country and your body was burned and hung from a bridge or perhaps you were beheaded and broadcast all over the internet, I?d seek revenge for you too.”

They’re not “fighting for us,” they are fighting for imperialism, and revenge and torture has no place in civilized society.

Unqualified? He’s the Director of a political survey center. He’s certainly more qualified than “some aides”.

You linked to an article with an independent “agenda” that had no real information. I can write stuff on top of pics too! I’d love to see the full quote cause I could easily presume that he’s going to show Washington how it FAILED here.

Your arguments and facts suck but for the drop out date I didn’t know about and still can’t find online. You also quoted a response to an article that doesn’t break down the poll as you copy and pasted. Where is the Rasmussen link?

Libervention… yes, if you were fighting for me in some foreign country and your body was burned and hung from a bridge or perhaps you were beheaded and broadcast all over the internet, I’d seek revenge for you too.

    “So do I.”

    That explains it.

“suggests the opposite according to the Director of the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.”

He was offering an unqualified opinion (“my sense”).

Rasmussen actually polled it and found Coakley as the 2nd choice by about 2-1.

It?s interesting to see where Joe?s votes come from:
1% of conservatives, 3% of moderates and 4% of liberals support him.
    He also gets:
2% of Republicans, 4% of Democrats and 3% of other.

He gets 15% of those in the 18-29 age group.

    From the article you cite:

Some aides to the other candidates believe that Mr. Kennedy may end up drawing nearly evenly from both sides.

    […]

But Mr. Kennedy said that if anything, he believed that more of his support was coming from Democrats, who like his opposition to the war and to the Defense of Marriage Act.

“Perhaps he?s learned from his mistake which he admitted was an experiment? Certainly looks like it.”

    Nope. See

    @9

Ryan, Brown supports torture. He is leading the assault on the American way.

  6. Ryan January 15, 2010

You’ll have to link to the poll showing people support a libertarian, then a democrat, and then a republican.
This article http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/15/us/politics/15massachusetts.html suggests the opposite according to the Director of the University of New Hampshire Survey Center.

I was focused on college in a state far far away at the time RomneyCare was being voted on. I don’t know anything about it but I do know that Brown now says this, “I believe that all Americans deserve health care coverage, but I am opposed to the health care legislation that is under consideration in Congress and will vote against it. It will raise taxes, increase government spending and lower the quality of care, especially for elders on Medicare. I support strengthening the existing private market system with policies that will drive down costs and make it easier for people to purchase affordable insurance.” Perhaps he’s learned from his mistake which he admitted was an experiment? Certainly looks like it.

“The idea that Kennedy should save them the trouble of actually earning their votes by dropping out is repugnant and anti-American.”

I’m sorry, when did this world start being perfect for everyone? I’m concerned about the assault on the American way in DC and Kennedy doesn’t have a shot in hell to fix that. Go ahead, stick to your guns. It is your right after all. I guess you have far less to lose though since your Libertarians did NOT stop RomneyCare and you are already stuck in a failing system that the rest of the country soon will be when Brown and Kennedy lose.

I find it hard to swallow that fighting for the Constitution by any means necessary is anti-American. I didn’t see healthcare anywhere in that document, did you?

You are indeed what you link your name to.

    “He needs to drop out”

Deadline was December 11. The only vote he owns is his own.

“so we don’t have another NY election going to the democrat. He is going to steal votes from Scott Brown”

False. The second choice of Kennedy supporters is Coakley over Brown by about 2-1 (Rasmussen and other polls).

“and it could possibly cost this country its freedom because of the healthcare bill.”

Wrong again. See the newer articles on this site.
He doesn’t want to stop government-forced corporate medical insurance mandates on individuals and small business. In fact he helped author the pilot program (RomneyCare) and has pledged to show the other 49 states how it’s done. And he probably won’t be seated in time to vote on it anyway.

” I’m more libertarian than republican but this just isn’t the time. ”

There’s never been a better time. It’s what they tell us every election. The more the Democrats and Republicans win the worse the situation gets, and the more dire the imagined consequences of not “voting for the lesser evil.” But then you are only voting for the evil of two lessers. The only way to break out of this vicious cycle is to vote for all our freedoms all the time.

“He can run again next time.”

And there will be another excuse then as to why “THIS election is too important.”

  8. Thomas L. Knapp January 15, 2010

    Ryan,

    You write:

“He needs to drop out so we don’t have another NY election going to the democrat.”

There are about 50 things wrong with that argument, but I’ll just hit the high points:

    – The deadline for removal from the ballot has already passed. Kennedy couldn’t drop out even if he wanted to.

    – Even if he could and did drop out, he’d probably benefit Coakley, not Brown, by doing so. Polling says that 2/3 of his supporters have Coakley, not Brown, as their second choice.

    – Votes belong to voters, not candidates. Neither Brown nor Coakley are entitled to a single vote. The idea that Kennedy should save them the trouble of actually earning their votes by dropping out is repugnant and anti-American.

  9. Ryan January 15, 2010

He needs to drop out so we don’t have another NY election going to the democrat. He is going to steal votes from Scott Brown and it could possibly cost this country its freedom because of the healthcare bill. I’m more libertarian than republican but this just isn’t the time. If Joe really cared about the direction of this country he’d bow out, publically support Brown, and let the people know he didn’t want to steal votes away only to see healthcare pass. He can run again next time.

  10. Thane Eichenauer January 14, 2010

    @3
I’ll just mention that as far as polls go that nobody is going out, they are all being contacted by phone. The number of people who actually for for Joe Kennedy could be less than 5% if liberty voters are dispirited or could be more than 5% if the suckers decide getting to the polls is not worth it.

It is easy to cast a vote for a phone poll, doing it for real is a bit more of a task.

  11. Ben January 14, 2010

5% would be really impressive. This campaign is a “battle of the bases” – especially with the race getting competitive, I wouldn’t expect many people to go out just to cast a single protest vote.

I like it when they win, personally.

  13. Third Party Revolution January 14, 2010

When a third party or independent candidate gets over 5% of the vote, that’s when I consider it a good job.
