Ballot Access News reports that Roger Roots has gone up from 6% to 9% in polls in the Montana US Senate contest. The increase in Roots’ support has been at the expense of the Democrat, following news that the incumbent Democrat plagiarized works of other authors in 2007. Republican and undecided percentages have held steady:
Gravis poll this week:
Republican Steve Daines 45%, Democratic incumbent John Walsh 38%, Libertarian Roger Roots 9%, undecided 8%.
Last week:
Republican Steve Daines 45%, Democrat John Walsh 41%, Libertarian Roger Roots 6%, undecided 8%.

The Republican has kept quite on this issue confronting the Democrat. Plus I think people are starting to get fed up with all this negative advertising by the Republican candidate, mostly on Vet issues. Roots could end up with over 6% in November as voters get tired of the two dull major party candidates. They haven’t said much on the issues but instead make general statements.
Interesting that the Republican hasn’t surged at all following the scandal, and that the Democrat hasn’t lost more support.
