On Sunday, November 22, Donald Trump said on a television interview program that if the Republican Party does not treat him fairly, he would consider running as an independent, even though he signed a pledge some months ago saying he would not do that. See this story.

Trump has lead or been tied for the lead in almost every poll. Flying in the face of all common sense, it now looks incredibly likely that he’ll be the nominee.

Shortly after he signed the Munich Agreement in September 1938, Adolf Hitler privately complained to members of his SS bodyguard, “That fellow Chamberlain spoiled my entrance into Prague.”
Hitler originally wanted to smash Czechoslovakia via a lighting military strike and then make a Caesar-like entry into the old capital city. But he had been overwhelmed by the eagerness of Britain and France to serve Czechoslovakia to him “on a plate.”
For Hitler, the Munich Agreement was nothing more than a worthless piece of paper. On October 21st, just three weeks after signing the document, he informed his generals that they should begin planning for “the liquidation of the remainder of Czechoslovakia.”
Serves the RNC right for playing right into his hands with that idiotic pledge. All it did was legitimize Trump by getting all the other candidates to say they could support him as the nominee, while he remains perfectly free to wipe his ass with their stupid piece of paper.
I don’t know if he’ll run independent or not (I think it’s a lot more likely he’ll be the GOP nominee), but one thing I know won’t happen is him losing the GOP nomination and then meekly conceding that his defeat was “fair” and without slight.
What’s new is that he has not been saying this since he made his pledge to back the winner of th Republican primaries regardless of who it is. This is the first time since then that he has used the line about possibly running as an independent if he is not treated fairly, whatever that may mean to him.
