Libertarian Party of Colorado: Caryn Ann Harlos Challenges Colorado’s Ballot “Selfie” Law

On October 20, 2016, attorney Adam Frank sent the following letter on behalf of Libertarian Party of Colorado Communications Director and Libertarian National Committee Region 1 Representative, Caryn Ann Harlos, regarding her intent to break the Colorado statute prohibiting disclosing the contents of one’s ballot to others:

She has stated that it is her intent to have suit filed on her behalf in Federal Court alleging civil rights violations if the Attorney General does not confirm in writing that this law will not be prosecuted.

    I hope you will look at the recent decision form the 1st Circuit where the court tossed out a similar law in New Hampshire!

    Good for you, Caryn!

    If I had to guess, I’d say the state will not respond to this letter, and they will not do anything to you for violating the law. That’s the easiest way out for them. Let’s see how it goes.
