The Party for Socialism and Liberation has submitted enough signatures to qualify for the Utah ballot in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, as announced in a video shared by the presidential ticket on social media.
“Socialism is now on the ballot in Utah!” posted the official X campaign account for the Party for Socialism and Liberation ticket on Thursday morning. “Utah organizers gathered over a thousand signatures to secure Claudia and Karina’s spot on the 2024 presidential ballot!”
The Party for Socialism and Liberation nominated party activists Claudia De la Cruz and Karina Garcia as their presidential ticket early last September. Readers of Independent Political Report can find further information about the PSL ticket in an earlier article here.
The announcement also included a video featuring party activists walking around the Utah State Capitol, where they referred to De la Cruz as the “first and only unaffiliated pro-Palestine presidential candidate in Utah” and said they collected and submitted over 1,500 signatures with the Salt Lake City branch of the party for the ticket to appear on the ballot.

In the 2020 election, the Party for Socialism and Liberation’s presidential ticket consisted of Gloria La Riva and Sunil Freeman and was on the ballot in 15 locations, including Utah. The ticket garnered a total of 85,685 votes. La Riva also appeared as the nominee for the Liberty Union and Peace and Freedom parties in select states.
Editorial note: a previous version of this article included the states where Gloria La Riva’s write-in votes were counted by the Federal Election Commission as part of the total number of locations where the Party for Socialism and Liberation’s qualified for ballot access in 2020. It has since been corrected. With thanks to Richard Winger of Ballot Access News.

I look forward to seeing how many votes they get in Utah.
In 2020, Gloria La Riva was on the ballot in Arkansas, California, Colorado, D.C., Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, and Washington, so that is 14 states plus DC, not 27.
