Milnes asks OK tribes for help; will seek Green, Boston Tea Party nominations

In a letter to Oklahoma Indian tribes, former Libertarian presidential candidate — now running as an independent — Robert Milnes says he needs 43,000 valid signatures between now and July 15 to appear on the Oklahoma ballot. Milnes says he would be willing to pay a “premium wage” to signature gathers, however, “unfortunately” he has “not as yet received sufficient campaign funding to do that.”

The letter, posted at Last Free Voice, also reveals Milnes’s aspirations to capture the presidential nominations of the Green Party and/or the Boston Tea Party.

Milnes’s platform calls for “a population expansion program consisting of positive eugenics and surrogate motherhood” for Native Americans.

Several observers have called into question Milnes’s mental stability, and others have openly pondered whether or not his candidacy has even one supporter other than Milnes himself.

Milnes accepted the nomination this morning. In his acceptance message, he suggested he is seeking a woman to run as vice president:

I propose to call it the Progressive Alliance ticket and obtain a display much as Ralph Nader with his Independence Party ticket, vice-president Matt Gonzalez.

He also said that he is yet to receive any reply for his letters to American Indian tribes seeking help with ballot access.

What kind of a person regards filing with the unconstitutional and immoral Federal Elections Commission as any kind of significant indication of action? My guess would be a statist who believes that without the state’s endorsement, nothing has happened.

Mr. Milnes has joined the Boston Tea Party and has been nominated and seconded for president on our official nominations thread.

At least Alan Keyes looks more credible now.

I really feel sorry for the guy. It’s like watching a downward spiral in slow motion.

Matt – Probably, but when someone firmly declares the intent to seek two party nominations, I think it’s newsworthy.

IPR is excellent, but haven’t we reached the point of Milnes saturation?

    I think so.

I’m sure the candidate himself will be along to answer your question.

Other than creating a website and posting to sites like IPR and TPW, has Milnes really done anything to really run? Has he filed with the FEC or anything of that sort?
