Does she support U.S. intervention in Tibet?
He doesn’t really endorse McKinney, just the idea of an American Green Party.
He doesn’t really seem to be aware that there is a US Green Party, so it’s unlikely he even knows McKinney is running.
Hmmm. I can’t play sound on this computer.
He is listed at ryncynthiarun.org as an endorser, along with this video.
I can’t imagine her supporting US intervention in Tibet. Heck, even the Dalai Lama isn’t asking for that. But like most Greens, I assume she believes Tibet’s future should be determined by Tibet. Sadly, that may not be a viable option for a long time to come.
I’m a rare breed. I practice buddhism & I’m a libertarian. I know of many buddhists who are either Greens or Democrats (if they declare who they support that is).
As a practicing buddhist, I would not support US intervention in Tibet or Burma.
What does the Dalai Lama want if not U.S. intervention?
I’m not challenging, just asking.
For China to kindly leave?
There’s nothing wrong with getting the world’s attention and for private individuals to donate to said cause.
Buddhists in Tibet & Burma have been treated like crap, and China does in my opinion, has much influence on the junta in Burma.
And as much as I hoped it wouldn’t come up, I’ve actually received a few emails with people basically saying that I would get their vote if I wasn’t so open about my buddhist beliefs. Thats sad man.
For Lake Michigan College Board of Trustees?
That’s not sad, that’s pathetic. Some hawk looking for minor candidates to dislike for their religion. What the hell is wrong with this country?!
You realize that the religious pandering the last few decades will never be repaired, right. We’re fucked. All out screwed.
All in the name of ill gotten morality. Let the flames of their hatred ignite a sudden realization in the masses!
It is an all too common problem. In Charlotte we have a wonderful woman who would be a terrific candidate, but she is an atheist and feel sure she couldn’t tolerate all the crap that would come her way should she run.
As to what the Dalai Lama’s desires for others to do vis-a-vis Tibet, I think that both the Buddhists in Tibet and the state capitalists in charge of China are seeing this in terms and time frames I can’t even fathom.
Griff is hoping to join her campaign as Jewish Community Issues special aid.
J.G. – I agree that Tibet, like any other people, should be allowed to secede / remain independent. I’m just not for my government interfering in that struggle in any way.
