Georgia Libertarians had a great night. In Georgia candidates must get 50% to win an election and avoid a runoff. It appears that Allen Buckley (U.S. Senate) and Brandon Givens (Public Service Commission) both caused Dec. runoffs.
Also, additional BIG news is that John Monds (candidate for Public Service Commission, which is a statewide election) broke the 1,000,000 vote mark! PLUS, he won at least two large Metro Atlanta counties (DeKalb and Clayton).

Looks like socially regressive props are ahead in early Cali vote counts
Richard Carroll (Green) is leading in Arkansas in his unusual state house yet.
All of this, however, is nothing compared to the monumental, earth-crushing, earth-shattering victory of the Catholic Trotskyist Party of America, the new third party that is changing the Democratic Party into a religiously conservative-leaning, but otherwise socialist, political rampart. May God shine upon the stars of Generals Obama and Biden, and may peace be unto all God’s people on Earth, amen. Time to celebrate!
@ CNN
US Sen 56-40, 4 still undecided
What’s the deal with this Richard Duncan person?
Tim Mahoney in that legislative district probably had some trouble because he has the same name as that disgraced Democratic Florida congressman.
The only Republican to be endorsed by the Catholic Trotskyist Party, Tim Rooney, defeated disgraced Florida candidate Tim Mahoney. I assume Barrett lost too. Pollina is also losing.
CA results site completely overwhelmed. My state’s just too good.
Real men vote absentee.

8th Congressional district: Ind Tom Lingenfelter (also running for state assembly) has .6% and 80 votes
13th Cong. District: John P. McDermott (C) now has 2.9% and almost 3,500 votes
180th state house district: Lib has 1.8% against only a Democrat (damn, those democrats are blowing everyone else out of the water)
NADER: .4%, almost 3,000 votes

Ohio 2nd District, with 34% reporting, it looks like Krikorian acted as a spoiler to put Schmidt back in.

In my congressional district (PA’s 13th), the Constitution Party candidate has 2.8% of the vote, which is decent for around here.
I guess this is where we’re liveblogging it…
With 5% of precincts reporting in Delaware, Roger Calero has 2 votes!

I’ll bet that the percentage of vote for third parties overall is within the margin of error for machines.
Nader also does better in states with no Barr. Baldwin seems to be beating McKinney, but McKinney still has a good base of support. It’s too bad that Jay didn’t do well in Tennessee.

If his numbers in Ohio hold he should hit nearly 100,000 in that state alone.
Hope Nader will do well in Iowa and Nebraska so he can get the Peace and Freedom Party ballot lines in those states.

Matthews is jumping the gun.
I’m going thru NY Times numbers.
MSNBC says McCain wins Georgia. Sigh, there goes one of the main spoiler arguments by the Barr campaign.
http://www.nytimes.com has all minor candidates listed (that aren’t write-ins).
There was some hope that Obama would win Alabama, but it was finally called for McCain.
Matthews’s guest mentions that there may have been 80% turnout in Virginia.
Paulie, I’m not giving an opinion about Pennsylvania, I’m just repeating what Chris Matthews said. I am also dubious about people declaring the election right after the polls closed, but they seem awfully confident there, and don’t seem to be worried about a Florida 2000 situation.
It does seem to be a good night for Nader over Barr, but Barr is doing better in places where Nader is not on.
Vermont was one of the first states to be called for Obama, but nothing has been declared about the governor’s race. I’m surprised that Callero did better than La Riva there.
God I hope Nader improves over 04. Granted most of the states that are reporting are not areas where has a large base of support so hopefully he does well in CA, NY, MA etc.

Catrot,
I think you are jumping the ball a little there. 0.0% reporting, not a very good basis to make any calls.
Most of the states that just closed have already been called by Chris Matthews to have the same electoral college results as in 2004, but not third party candidates have been mentioned in MSNBC at all.

Looks like it’s fixed. Election machine gremlins strike again!
They fixed it.
HAH! Tom Stevens getting 50k votes in FLA alone!? I seriously doubt it.
They must be projecting out from the first 1% of votes tallied. Otherwise, those raw numbers don’t make sense.
Tom Stevens?! WTF?

Holy shit. This can not be right
Interesting with how conservative Kentucky is that Nader is out polling Barr there. I would imagine Indiana is the only reason why Barr is ahead of Nader at all at this point.

Anybody up for checking out local sources and SOS pages in those states to see if wwe can find anything?
Peter,
It looks like FoxNews’ thing lists most people on the ballot. Im hoping that here at IPR we’ll have decent liveblog coverage.
It looks like Barr is benefitting from being the only third-party candidate in Indiana. He’s over 1% so far.
GE is at a hotel watching the returns with his wife and kid. Im aobut to leave to goto an election party.
Peter, as much as it pains me to say it—there arent really any.
FoxNews’s site has decent coverage of the third-party votes.
