Libertarian Party candidate Joe Kennedy was recently on a radio debate on 96.9 "Boston Talks" radio show. He is contending for the late Edward Kennedy’s Senate seat in a special election that will be held on January 19th, 2010.
You can view the video of the debate below. Joe’s closing remarks begin at 2:30 in the video.
Kennedy also recently released a new position paper on cutting spending and reducing taxes. You can view this paper here:

social moderate who is tight-fisted with taxpayer dollars
I guess that would explain why he opposes legal abortion, gay marriage and marijuana decriminalization while supporting high state income taxes, increased state sales taxes, increasing property taxes, and state mandates for individual medical insurance, right?
Scott Brown came out for waterboarding in this debate. Brown apparently wants to treat US citizens to waterboarding and a Gitmo vacation. Improbable as it is, he’s promoting himself as a genuine small government guy.
From yesterday’s Boston Herald:
Brown continued to paint himself as a social moderate who is tight-fisted with taxpayer dollars and hawkish on national security. He said there may be cases in which U.S. citizens should be treated as enemy combatants if they have undergone terrorism training outside the country.
“Even though they hold the status of U.S. citizens, now they’ve gone to a different level,” he said. “They’re joining a known terrorist group and almost saying, ‘Even though I’m born here . . . I want to be (elsewhere) instead.’ ”

I will bet a lot of people in Massachusetts will snooze through this election, even though it is replacing an icon of American politics. It’s after the holidays, people will be worried about the bills they racked up, and not thinking about an election.
If Joe Kennedy can get every single person who is upset over the government out to the polls that day, he may have something.
