Press release sent to [email protected]:
The Indiana Democratic Party has sunk to new lows in their efforts to win two Congressional seats in Indiana. It was revealed Friday that the Indiana Democratic Party has put out a direct mail piece for Libertarian Greg Knott in Indiana’s ninth Congressional district. Today, Conservative voters in the second Congressional district received a direct mail piece promoting Libertarian Mark Vogel.
“The Libertarian Party of Indiana condemns the use of its candidates’ images and branding in this manner without our candidate’s express written permission,” said Executive Director Chris Spangle.
“Neither Greg Knott nor Mark Vogel were consulted before their images were used in these mailers. The Libertarian Party of Indiana denounces the tactics used by State Democrats. Voters should not trust politicians that will use any means to win a race.”

Nice list that Greg has there. I especially like the comment and dollar number he has for the foreign bases. Big Cheer for that one! Way to go.
I would say the mailings did mischaracterize Libertarian Greg Knott. The Democrats omitted Greg’s progressive policies.
You can see Greg’s response here: http://nobullcongress.com/knott-clarifies-democrat-mailer-on-his-behalf/
Had the Democrats more accurately mentioned both his conservative and progressive policies, then both Dems and Repubs both would have rightfully lost votes.
Here are some progressive issue omissions the Democrats failed to put on the mailing (likely because Baron Hill can’t match Gregg on practically any of them):
1. Progressive income tax reform
2. Reinstating Glass-Steagall Banking Act
3. Protecting the environment (Gregg’s undergrad was in environmental science)
4. Ending Iraq and Afghan war in addition to closing our military bases overseas
5. Local issue of stopping I-69 (NAFTA Superhighway)
6. Extending unemployment benefits
7. Letting Bush Tax Cuts expire
8. Ending agribusiness corporate welfare
9. No Bailouts
Only the bailouts were mentioned on the mailing, nothing else. And that’s just because Baron somehow managed to vote against the bailouts (which he deserves credit for).

My point exactly.
Did the mailings in any way mischaracterize the candidates or their positions?
Of not, don’t look a gift jackass in the mouth.

I think Libertarian candidates should thank the Democrats for promoting Libertarian campaigns.
Sadly I think my Democratic opponent for Arizona state treasurer is not nearly as stupid as his state party so I will have to rely upon my own efforts to promote my campaign. Nuts!

I like national LPHQ’s response better
