Dear Red:
It’s been a busy time since the election of 2010. I am extremely grateful for the many new friends and associations that came about due to the campaign. I hope this note finds you healthy and happy; that life is treating you well. For me and my family, work has been good and I’m grateful for the time to focus on my clients. It’s taken some time to recuperate from the campaign.
I have been gratified by the many individuals who have encouraged me to run for the open seat of Senator Jon Kyl. After a great deal of deliberation and prayer, and thoughtful discussion with my wife, I have decided to once again run for the US Senate. I believe our country is in trouble and headed in the wrong direction. I believe that in order for the politics of Washington to change, we must stop sending life-long politicians to Washington. It is time we demand that our elected officials get about the business of governing – with defense of the Constitution and protection of our individual freedoms as their guiding principles.
In our last campaign you were very helpful. I am very grateful for all of your efforts. At times this was at great sacrifice and I’m sure I may have caused some consternation for you and your friends or family. I hope you will be willing to stand with me once again and fight for the future of country in defense of our God-given rights.
On this Independence Day, I am thankful for the countless individuals who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedoms our founding fathers recognized. They had a vision of how great this country could be and the opportunities that would be available when its citizens take an active role in fighting for and defending its principles.
I will once again run as an Independent. Even though the road is more difficult, I genuinely believe it is worth holding to my values and steering away from the entanglements of party affiliation. I will work to strengthen our country’s greatness by focusing on the principles upon which it was founded, not in maintaining power and control and protecting the privileges of the ruling class, and pandering to the many special interest groups.
We learned many valuable lessons from our last efforts. We are beginning much earlier this time around. The biggest challenge we face is in gathering the required number of signatures to qualify for the ballot. Organizing a small army of volunteers to help in this effort is our first priority. We hope you will be one of these individuals. Now is the time to look to family and friends and invite them to join our cause.
Based on the latest calculations, we anticipate needing nearly 35,000 valid signatures to qualify for the ballot. It is our hope you will join us in this effort and recruit others to make this possible.
Jan and I are excited about the coming months and hope you will join us on this journey.
Warm regards,
Ian Gilyeat

Don, I took up for you once when I thought Cody went over the line. I have nothing against you. I think the Seidenberg and Robinson faction used you. They “left” the CP in a snit because their boy didn’t win the nomination, not over substantial policy differences. In fact, Seidenberg couldn’t even come up with any policy differences when repeatedly asked to do so.
All the posters here have known points of view. Everyone who is involved in third party politics has a strong point of view or else they wouldn’t be involved with third parties. I try to be objective in the posts I make and reserve my opinion for the comments.
Well, you obviously do not like me. And that’s AOK! But be aware that your behavior borders on the grossly subjective.
Most of us hate unfairness in the Democans and the Republicrats. Why tread in the direction of Grundmann and Quirk ????????
Lake, I’m not promoting anyone. I’m passing on news.
Also, while my hair may unfortunately be thinning, I am not bald, so the Red moniker is still appriopriate.
Did you read those two links I posted? My position re. third parties still seems to be a mystery to you.

Cody, common slang, from as early as the late 1960s, like ‘Sandy Ego’ in Southern California, *snork*
Maroon ……….
I live in Phoenix, Arizona. I look forward to Gilyeat’s campaign. He put in time and money in the 2010 election cycle. I will certainly be keeping an eye on his campaign. Qualifying for a statewide office (in AZ) such as US Senator as an Independent is a substantial obstacle although certainly possible for someone with plenty of drive and popular support (or money for paid petitioners).
-Can’t even spell ‘Arizona’

Don, what was the point of that?

On reading this “once again” makes it sound like he is a perpetual candidate. Should have just written “again.” Will correct.
