FWIW, I qualified for the February 7th Democratic presidential primary in
Missouri yesterday. An “illegal immigrant” — I detest that term — from Iowa
traveled to Jefferson City to pick up my receipt for the qualifying fee from
the Democratic State Committee’s headquarters and delivered it to the
Secretary of State’s office! How cool is that?

By the way, it looks like anti-abortion activist Randall Terry also filed
for the primary.

Hope all is well.

With best wishes,

Darcy

*Because of Darcy’s past association with IPR and because of his status as one of the premier chroniclers of third party history, there is general agreement among IPR writers that we should cover Darcy’s primary challenge of Obama. I would like to do so in the future without always having to use this disclaimer. Speak now or forever hold your peace.

I filed this as uncategorized. I debated whether to file it as Socialist/left parties which is the only other option that seemed appropriate. What think ye?

I think uncategorized is probably right. Darcy has been involved with Socialist/left parties in the past, but this run isn’t exactly that sort of thing.

I’m hoping he can get on the ballot in Indiana so I can vote for him!

  3. Jason Gatties

I’ve worked my butt off to try to get him on the Michigan ballot but it looks like its a lost cause. I started a website that i haven’t even been able to keep up with because my free time has been spent trying to convince the SOS or Michigan Chairman to place him on the ballot. Our only other option is to gather signatures, but there’s no way we will be able to gather enough signatures to get him on the ballot in time.

Wow that is cool Darcy. We third parties are looking forward to working with you in the future. You should consider joining the All Party System’s (and independents) presidential debate team ASAP by signing up and voting for your name: http://usparliament.org/pdc.php

After all, the MO primary is approaching very quickly, and we don’t have enough cool Democratics working with the team.

Keep the disclaimer. He is running as a major party candidate, not as an independent or a third party candidate.

One of the premier chroniclers of third party history – sounds like a bit of ego boosting kissing up.

This is the Independent Political Report, not Challengers to Incumbents Political Report. Keep the disclaimer.

I agree that Darcy should indeed be covered here – his knowledge and experience makes him a cut above mainstream candidates and run-of-the-mill political campaigns. He has the rare outsider-who-happens-to-be-running-on-the-inside view of the 2012 election. We need to hear that.
