The Connecticut Post reports that 10 Green Party candidates will appear on the ballot in the upcoming Stamford election. While they did not put forth a candidate in the mayoral race, there are 8 candidates for one board, another for school board and one for constable.
And in Louisiana, Green Party candidate Eliot Barron will be on the ballot for a special congressional election.
Barron was featured in the Monroe News-Star. The special election, to take place on Saturday the 19th (Saturday?) includes quite a few candidates:
Other candidates include: independent Tom Gibbs of Fairbanks; Henry Herford of Delhi, a Libertarian; Public Service Commissioner Clyde Holloway, R-Forest Hill; state Rep. Marcus Hunter, D-Monroe; Rep. Robert Johnson, D-Marksville; Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo, a Democrat; Vance McAllister, R-Monroe; state Rep. Jay Morris, R-Monroe; state Sen. Neil Riser, R-Columbia; former state Rep. Weldon Russell, D-Amite; Phillip “Blake” Weatherly, R-Calhoun; independent Peter Williams of Lettsworth; and S.B.A. Zaitoon of Baton Rouge, a Libertarian.
So the race includes two independents, two Libertarians, a Green and a bunch of candidates from the major parties.
