“Blue Collar” comedian Ron White, 58, has announced an independent bid for the White House in the 2016 presidential election.
White made the announcement along with a video posted Tuesday showing him signing paperwork — and created a new RonWhiteForPresident.com — where his slogan is “Vote Smart! Because You Can’t Fix Stupid,” and he says:
“For years, people all across this great country have asked me to run for President, but nothing like this year. My decision to run for President of the United States of America came from a lack of choices. I’ve watched the debates and I thought to myself: Is this what we have to choose from? For 30 years I have traveled this country back and forth, up and down. I love you people and you have told me what you think is wrong and what you want to see change. So if you want me to do this, I will.”
“This is going to be the real White House,” he said in his official YouTube video as he signed the document, implied to be his official paperwork to run for office. “Bring it.”

Surprise, surprise, surprise….
I wrote to him through the “Contact” portion of his campaign website and asked for the opportunity to interview Mr. White, but haven’t heard back from him.
I expect the paperwork won’t get filed, but we shall see.
His website says, ” And to those who want to know if this is for real, I tell you it is as real as real can get. As a wise man once said: “I’m mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it anymore!”

He seems about as serious about it, as Kanye West 2020, or the “Willie Nelson for President” kitsch you can buy at his concerts (Paul English for Vice!). We’ll see if he files with the FEC and/or makes any attempt at ballot access.
I’m a bit surprised, because even though his comedy has always had some political content, it’s never really been *ideological* in the way you’d except on the list of “comedians who might run for President.” Like, if Stewart, or Colbert, or Maher, or MIller, etc. ran, you’d basically already know what their platform was. White’s platform appears to be “Vets good! Pot good! Meth bad!” — none of which is particularly tied to the stand-up routines he’s known for.

Ron needs to crack a book. He’s economically and philosophically illiterate. …Stanhope should have run.
Because the government educates the citizenry of the USA, the people of the USA, like most of the rest of the world, have “absence of philosophy” where they should have “their highest-level conception of political philosophy.”
The electorate lacks strongly-held high-level views of any kind; they lack top-hierarchical-level knowledge. When combined with the teaching “You now know enough to be a contributing member of society,” this yields a bumper crop of specialized insects that mindlessly toil for their masters until death. All of America’s savings go to the parasite class, and the productive generally die none the wiser.
The average American treats politics like “a whole bunch of unconnected issues” on which they believe they can have any number of totally self-contradictory views. Without believing in “self-ownership” and “property rights” across the board, Americans are easily divided against one another. The union labor drug user votes against the immigrant’s rights, and the immigrant’s family votes against the union labor drug user’s rights. Both of the prior vote against gun rights. All of the prior vote for everyone to live at everyone else’s expense, as enforced arbitrarily by the IRS. Renters vote to strip land-owners of their land, lest a “protected wet land” be destroyed. The whole business of politics is an unphilosophical war of “all against all,” where only those staging the battles are the victors.
From what I’ve seen of Ron White, he’s no different than the typical American. If he’s smart, he’ll learn the word Libertarian, and go to Florida with enough money and support to get the LP nomination (I believe he would already need to have joined the LP as a member, in order to run, or would need to convince a great many LP-member delegates).
f he’s not smart, he won’t secure the nomination of the LP or CP, and won’t access more than 10 State ballots.
The Overton Window for unifying Americans around the Bill of Rights is closing (and yes, I know it technically isn’t supposed to work that way, but moves “up or down”). Ever since the ratification of the Constitution, we’ve been moving further away from a populate where the educated 10% know enough to drag the nation away from tyranny.
The trouble is, once you have something to lose, threats work really well. The incumbent establishment can play you the tape of JFK’s assassination from an angle nobody’s ever seen before, and that’s assuming that infiltrating your campaign with seemingly-inept idiots didn’t work. The carrot and stick approach works for 100% of Americans in a position to cause a problem for the Military Industrial Complex, Prison Industrial Complex, and Central Bankers. The prior three categories are the groups of people that both the Democrats and Republicans support, unconditionally.
They do nothing to anger these three masters.
Thus, those three masters constitute the actual government of the USA. Those are “the people you’re not allowed to criticize.”
…Everything else is theater for idiots.
I am glad to see that he has a posted policy position on both marijuana and methamphetamine, though I find it to be inconsistent. His policy on injured soldiers seems rather me too.
