Today April 1, 2019, I announce my candidacy for Chair of the Libertarian Party of Florida. We are at a crossroads. In 2014 and 2016, we had statewide candidates, we had a growing membership, and we were politically relevant. In 2017, Marcos Miralles was elected Chair, and reversed our course.
In 2018, we had no Statewide candidates, our membership is stagnant and inactive, and we are officially irrelevant on the Florida political scene. To top that off, under Marco’s watch, we lost $15000 due to fraud, and we were investigated by both the state of Florida and the federal government.
The LPF has become a haven for the alt-right, and we have lost the principles that made our Party great. We need a new direction and new leadership. The current crop of candidates are uninspiring, ineffective, and part of the same Executive Committee that has lead our Party to irrelevancy.
So, I am running for Chair to fix our Party. We need strong leadership with strong principles to reinvigorate our Party and stop the takeover by the alt-right. We need to have statewide candidates, and we need to inspire our members again.
I have a long history of activism in this party, I pre-registered as a Libertarian, when I was 16 and joined my local affiliate when I was 18. I am currently the Vice Chair of the Polk County Libertarian Party. I’ve worked on both the Wyllie and Stanton campaign. I am a proven fundraiser.
Vote for me to be chair of the Libertarian Party of Florida, and together we will end the stagnation, and make our party relevant again!
LET THE LPF PROSPER!
Tesky clarified in comments that this was not an April Fools joke..
It’s not an April Fools joke like the current state of the LPF
