In an email from the Liberal Party USA on Friday, Robert Kraus announced that he has been named the organization’s Acting Executive Director. Kraus is also involved in planning the organization’s inaugural convention, set to take place later this year.
“I am thrilled to announce that I am now the Acting Executive Director of the Liberal Party USA, the national home of autonomous state parties dedicated to advancing the cause of free people and limited government,” Kraus said in the email. He also added that he is actively helping organize the party’s upcoming convention, now named the Live Life Liberally Conference.
According to the Liberal Party USA website, Kraus will serve as Acting Executive Director until the party gathers in Houston, Texas, this December. In addition to selecting new leaders, delegates will vote to adopt the party’s platform and bylaws during the two-day event.
Kraus is a professional event planner and small business owner. He was previously a member of the Liberal Party USA’s preliminary Steering Committee, alongside Trisha Butler and Chris Luchini, and operated in a staff role. Before joining the Liberal Party USA, Kraus served as the long-time Director of Operations for the Libertarian National Committee.
I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Kraus at a couple of Libertarian Party National Conventions. He was a very capable and knowledgeable Director of Operations of the Libertarian National Committee for many years. He is also an expert at finding meeting venues and running conferences. The Liberal Party is wise and fortunate to have him serve as Acting Executive Director.
