Libertarian Party of New York Condemns Trump’s Proposal for U.S. Control of Gaza

The Libertarian Party of New York has condemned President Donald Trump’s recent proposal for the United States to take control of the Gaza Strip, calling it an unconstitutional power grab and a reckless escalation of American interventionism.

In a statement on Tuesday night, the party strongly rejected Trump’s recent suggestion that the United States assume control over Gaza, rebuild it, and relocate its Palestinian residents to countries such as Egypt and Jordan. Speaking in a news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier that day, Trump framed his proposal as both a humanitarian effort and economic opportunity, describing Gaza as a potential “Riviera of the Middle East.” His remarks prompted swift reactions from both domestic and international critics, including from the Libertarian Party of New York, which warned that such an action would violate national sovereignty, burden American taxpayers, and set a dangerous precedent for future military entanglements.

“The United States government has no rightful authority to seize or govern foreign territory, nor should American taxpayers be forced to fund yet another endless entanglement in the Middle East,” the party stated. “Any attempt to impose U.S. control over Gaza would be a blatant violation of national sovereignty, an invitation for further conflict, and a direct threat to the lives of both American service members and civilians in the region.”

The party also criticized Trump’s proposal as a sharp departure from his previous rhetoric against nation-building and called on Congress and the American people to oppose any expansion of U.S. military presence in Gaza. It further noted that forcibly relocating Gaza’s Palestinian population would violate international law and longstanding U.S. foreign policy principles.

“The path to peace lies in diplomacy, trade, and non-intervention—not in military control and nation-building,” the party added.

On Wednesday afternoon, top administration officials sought to walk back elements of Trump’s comments. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff clarified that Trump had not committed to deploying U.S. troops or spending American funds on the plan, nor were his words intended to be understood as hostile. While the feasibility of Trump’s proposal remains uncertain, his remarks have already drawn scrutiny from international partners, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan, who have rejected any attempt to forcibly relocate Gaza’s population.

The notion this is going to be done on cheap is ridiculous. Trump and his staff saying “no troops will be sent there”, yeah right.

This is pretty much the definition of nation building. It’s going to make a lot of contractors in the U.S., Israel, and likely Egypt richer.

Gotta shake my old head at something which thinks that silencing truth it doesn’t want to hear, is somehow compatible with libertarianism. U+1F60F

The military invasion and regime change in Arab occupied Israel have been committed by the antisemitic terrorists identifying themselves as “palestinian” over the past century. Just as the Leninist-Banderist terrorist calling themselves “ukrainians” have been invading and occupying Russia, Hungary, Poland, etc. since 1917.
Putin’s opposition to the military invasion, indefinite occupation and regime change committed by “ukrainians”, and to the genocide that has come with it, is necessary for any libertarian. Just so, the opposition to the “palestinians” military invasion, indefinite occupation, regime change and genocide.

Gotta shake my old head at anything which thinks that Putin – and Trump IFF he goes through with this and implements it properly – are somehow not acting compatible to what is prerequisite to all libertarians: defense of and justice for the victims of NAP violations against the continuing violators.

    Adamson Scott,

You have a feature to “block” users. On my phone it’s the thumb, used to scroll. The mechanics might differ depending on type of device used to access internet and accessibility features, etc. I thank my Designer for the thumb, eyes, and brain, and the phone and internet designers for giving me a way to combine them in ways to discern how to skip past some things and not others.

Gotta shake my ol’ head at someone who thinks that militarily invading and instituting regime change is somehow “libertarian”.

(It’s a shame this website doesn’t have a feature to block users.)

Of course the statist scum “condemns” anything that is too libertarian for them.

What Trump should do but won’t, is of course to hand Gaza back to its rightful owner, Israel, after giving the nazi “palestinian” scum the choice of either 1) owning up to the fact that they are foreign Arab invaders and occupiers, not a distinct or separate people with more than a century of so of history in the region nor any claim to the land; or 2) a nice, free, short, one-way helicopter ride over the Mediterranean or the Sinai, with an express ticket to hell throw in. The would be true libertarianism in action.
