The Green Party of New Jersey will hold its 2025 annual state convention on April 5 in Jackson. The event will feature former Green Party presidential nominee Dr. Jill Stein as the keynote speaker.
In an announcement on social media this month, the state Green Party confirmed that the convention will take place at the Ocean County Library and will be hosted by the Ocean County Greens affiliate. The event will be held in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual participation. Registration is currently open for members attending in person, while a link for remote attendees will be provided as the convention date approaches.
Participants eligible to vote on party business, including leadership elections for the coming year and proposed bylaw changes, must have either registered with the Green Party by March 8 or be current dues-paying members.
The Green Party of New Jersey has not yet released a full agenda but stated that additional details will be made available in the coming weeks. However, the party has confirmed that Dr. Jill Stein, its most recent presidential nominee, will deliver the convention’s keynote address. In the 2024 presidential election, Stein earned 39,041 votes in New Jersey, or 0.91% of the total vote, making it one of her stronger statewide performances in terms of overall percentage.
Additionally, the event will feature Stephen Zielinski, the state Green Party’s 2025 gubernatorial nominee. The party also anticipates additional guest speakers and plans to introduce its legislative candidates for the year.
