Author and human rights advocate Miko Peled will deliver the keynote address this Saturday afternoon during the Green Party of the United States’ 2025 Annual National Meeting. His remarks will focus on the humanitarian situation in Palestine and what can be done to resolve it.
“Miko Peled, writer, speaker, and human rights activist who supports a single democracy with equal rights in all of historic Palestine, will give the keynote speech Saturday at 2–3 p.m. on the topic ‘Palestine – The State of Genocide and How We Can End It,'” the party said in a press release Tuesday.
Peled is an American-Israeli activist and the author of “The General’s Son: The Journey of an Israeli in Palestine” and “Injustice: The Story of the Holy Land Foundation Five.” He is a member of the D.C. Statehood Green Party and the founder and president of the Palestine House of Freedom, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit focused on education and public awareness regarding Palestine’s history and human rights situation. He has also spoken internationally on topics related to conflict resolution, political advocacy, and international law.
According to the release, Peled further stated, “The genocide of the Palestinian people is our collective responsibility, and we must all act together to bring it to an end by liberating Palestine.”
The party previously announced Peled’s participation earlier this year but only recently confirmed the topic of his speech. He will be introduced by Dr. Jill Stein, a three-time Green Party presidential nominee. The keynote will be streamed live on the Green Party’s official website and social media accounts.
The Green Party’s Annual National Meeting begins remotely this Thursday and runs through Sunday, August 3. The 2025 meeting theme is “Go Green” and will focus heavily on party-building workshops and interactive member-led discussions. Planned programming includes sessions on ballot access as a strategy for state party development, media training for candidates, approaches to monetary reform, and additional panels.
