The Green Party of the United States shared further details about its 2025 Annual National Meeting in an email to members this week, including the event’s Saturday keynote speaker and a list of workshop topics it has accepted since the April deadline. The meeting will take place remotely from July 31 to August 3.
In March, the party first announced that early registration for the meeting was open, though it didn’t include specific details beyond its theme and date. At the same time, the party began accepting submissions for member-led workshops, which would be one-hour interactive discussions. Select workshops will also be shared later on the party’s YouTube channel. Members were allowed to submit workshop proposals until mid-April.
The Green Party began announcing some of the accepted proposals this Tuesday, outlining a focus on party-building and developing coalitions. The party also stated it would host a panel discussion on immigration that Friday night, a Saturday night fundraiser, and a “State of the Party” address on Sunday afternoon.
Specific workshops include using ballot access drives to build state affiliates, growing the broader Green movement, party-building through monetary reform, and pursuing social justice through alliances and collaboration. The party will also host several candidate-foward workshops, including a discussion on why members should run for Congress, media basics for candidates and state parties, and how the environmental impacts of regenerative agriculture can be used as a campaign messaging tool.
Miko Peled will deliver the annual meeting’s keynote address on Saturday afternoon, though the party hasn’t specified a topic. Peled is a human rights activist and author best known for his advocacy for Palestinian rights and critiques of Israeli policy. He is also a member of the D.C. Statehood Green Party.
The party plans to release additional information as the meeting draws closer, including more details on panel participants, special events, and other approved workshops.
