The Communist Party USA is once again soliciting artwork and creative submissions from supporters related to working-class history and culture, which it plans to feature during African American History Month and Women’s History Month.
In a January 29 email, the party’s National Education Commission said it is seeking submissions from artists and content creators to be used in digital collections, slideshows, and other educational materials shared across the two months. The commission is interested in paintings, drawings, works of poetry, music and dance, jewelry design, and spoken word.
“In the face of capitalist class aggression on many fronts, it is critical that we build a mass culture of resistance which can illuminate the rich history and diversity of our working-class movement and the vibrant, joyful, optimistic world we can only achieve together,” the request stated. The commission added that it is open to both previously created works and entirely new pieces.
The party first issued an urgent call for similar materials in November 2025, including submissions it could use for the two upcoming months, as well as Earth Month in April and Working-Class History Month in May. That initial request was part of a collaboration with the Working-Class Project, an outreach initiative focused on organizing mass movements, developing art and culture, and promoting political education centered on working-class theory.
Throughout January, the two groups held a series of classes as part of the National Marxist School, an annual program designed to introduce participants to Marxist theory and topics central to working-class political outlooks. Organizers have since planned additional events, including several tied to African American History Month that are now being promoted as part of a 2026 Freedom School series. Planned sessions will examine African American culture, resistance movements, and modern challenges to historic civil rights gains.
Submissions for the party’s upcoming projects may include image files, short video clips, or text documents, provided they are suitable for immediate use in its online presentations and displays. Video submissions are requested to be limited to a few minutes in length and recorded in landscape format.
