Seven candidates have filed paperwork to run for seats in the Utah Legislature as members of the Constitution Party in the 2026 general election, according to filing information released by the Utah lieutenant governor’s office.
Filings published in January show that six candidates are seeking seats in the Utah House of Representatives, while another is seeking a position in the Utah Senate, all on the Constitution Party ballot line. All seven candidates indicated on their filing documents that they intend to seek the party’s nomination at its 2026 state convention.
The Constitution Party is one of eight political parties currently recognized by the state of Utah. Other qualifying parties include the Independent American Party, Libertarian Party, Forward Party, Green Party, and the former state affiliate of No Labels. The filing list further shows that the Constitution Party and the Forward Party are the only third party organizations to have candidates file on their respective lines this cycle.
The current report does not include candidates for Congress, which are expected to be released in March, nor does it include filings for local offices. In the 2024 general election, the Constitution Party fielded five candidates for state and federal office in Utah, including Mark Skousen, who appeared on the ballot as the party’s presidential nominee rather than national party nominee Randall Terry.
While all seven candidates plan to seek the party’s nomination through its convention, Utah law also provides an alternative path to the general election ballot through petitioning. Under that process, candidates for the Utah House of Representatives must collect at least 1,000 valid signatures from registered voters in their district, while candidates for the Utah Senate must collect 2,000 signatures.
The Constitution Party of Utah has not yet publicly announced any details for its upcoming state convention. Party conventions are typically held later in the spring to meet ballot access and certification deadlines. A full list of Constitution Party candidates who have filed for the 2026 election cycle, along with the legislative districts they are seeking, is provided below.

Finally the Constitution Party does something that makes sense… I’m no supporter of them, but I’ve always said their best bet is to put most of their effort in Utah and South Carolina because the Democratic Party is irrelevant in both of those states. The Green Party’s best bet, for example, is Hawaii and probably Minnesota, Illinois, or Massachusetts (Republican Party is effectively non existent). The Liberal Party’s is probably Colorado, Oregon, Nevada, and/or Washington state.
