Andrew Yang to Speak at Colorado Forward Party Nominating Assembly

The Colorado Forward Party has announced that national co-chair and founder Andrew Yang will appear as a guest speaker at its virtual nominating assembly this upcoming Saturday.

The assembly is scheduled for April 11 and will include candidate nominations for the 2026 election cycle, along with other party business like the consideration of bylaws amendments. Leadership elections will not be part of this year’s convention business.

The party first announced the assembly in February, when it released an early agenda that said a national party leader would address delegates but did not identify who. That agenda also included plans for members to hear from prospective candidates and receive information on how to run for office under the Forward Party label.

In an email to supporters this week, the party said Yang will attend as a guest speaker.

Yang originally founded the Forward Party as a political action committee in 2021 before the organization became a formal party, and currently serves as its national co-chair alongside Christine Todd Whitman and Michael Willner. He is also one of the organization’s most visible public figures.

According to an updated agenda, Yang will be joined by Colorado Springs City Council member David Leinweber and previously announced Democratic state Rep. Bob Marshall as featured speakers. The party has not indicated what topics they will address.

To participate in the assembly, members must register in advance and meet eligibility requirements set by the party, including being in good standing, signing the party’s affiliate pledge, and registering as Forward Party voters with the Colorado Secretary of State.
