Third Party Website Rankings: Is American Third Position Party #1?

It is according to the research of “Weaver” at Conservative Heritage Times.

Alexa US traffic rankings of political party websites (lower is better):

1. A3P: 16,418
2. GOP: 22,023
3. Dem: 35,473
4. Green: 158,794
5. Constitution: 159,534
6. Libertarian: (Alexa mistakes it for being South Korean)
7. Reform: Unranked
8. America First: Unranked

The American Third Position Party (A3P) only began this year, not yet even listed at Politics1; and already the A3P boasts the most popular US party website.

Editor’s Note: My reading of Alexa has the LP website at 65,480 which would put it fourth after the Democrats but before the Greens. Weaver might have been looking at a different LP website.

Editor’s Note II: Weaver was apparently looking at US ranking, not global ranking, which makes sense. The LP’s US rank is 36,615 which would put it fourth behind the Democrats and in front of the Greens. The high ranking of the LP website in South Korea is odd. Anyone have an explanation for that?

Disclaimer: I also blog at CHT.

I think the ranking were fixed, this is a non-entity and this is probably their one and only claim to “fame”.

  2. Harry V. Joiner December 16, 2010

If the Turd Position is #1 why have I never heard of these bozos before?

  3. Nationalist December 16, 2010

    @Johncjackson

Did you intend “LP” or “CP”?

The LP does support abolishment of Affirmative
Action but also supports open borders.
The A3P is more amenable to CP than LP.

    I still vote CP/AIP but I find A3P very
compelling. They have a very busy forum
    and operate very professionally.

  4. Johncjackson December 16, 2010

Don’t worry about “A3P” as a threat to the other 3rd parties. I’m sure Wayne Root will work his recruitment magic and absorb them into the LP soon enough.

  5. Paulie December 15, 2010

I haven’t had time to read the other comments, so perhaps this has been pointed out already, but Alexa is a notoriously bad and easy to manipulate ranking system.

    @ 21
He was stating that Communism is dead, and that you are trying to attach it to the Catholic Church, and organization notorious for harboring pedophiles.

  7. Nationalist December 15, 2010

Those who believe Nationalism cannot make big gains should
take a look across the pond at some more recent European
electoral trends. These parties are very similar to A3P.

    * The British National Party is about the 4th largest party
in the UK based on the 2010 popular vote. They have two
    MEPs in the European Parliament.
    * Jobbik is now the second or third largest party in Hungary.
    * Barbara Rosenkranz got 15% of the vote in Austria.
    * The French Front National had their best showing in decades.

Jameson, I have no idea what the last half of your last sentence is about.
I’m not a constitutionalist, but I think people are much more likely to adopt constitutionalism based on Red’s position, rather than your racially oriented position.

  9. JamesinUSA December 15, 2010

I hate to have to remind you RedPhillips ,but that Constitution and American milieu is disappearing before your very eyes. No, not the actually document or wording , but rather the mentality that Americans once had toward the meaning of the constitution. The mentality of the people today is simply not the same as it was 50 years ago and wishing it to be again isn’t going to make it so. You may issues with Third Positionism but I have an issue with obvious Conservative failure to bring about the change necessary to revive our nation and people.

As for Catholic Trotskyist: The A3P isn’t about White Supremacy but rather about White Rights , and there’s nothing deader than trying to revive the ideological corpse of Marxism attached to an institution of child molesters.

Relax Eric G, whatever can be said about Alexa rankings, no one at CHT is a “hack.” I didn’t write the post, but I had never heard of compete or quantcast before now. I had heard that Alexa’s rankings were suspicious, but wouldn’t have known of another source if I wanted to.

Besides, I support the Constitution Party in general, not A3P. I have serious issues with third positionism, as it is not compatable with constitutionalism or the American milieu from which any authentic conservative impulse must arise.

I’m not sure how compete.com and quantcast.com compile their rankings, but Alexa’s never seemed very reliable to me.

Its statistical population is self-selecting. Your Alexa rank is “your rank among people who have installed the Alexa toolbar.”

For a long time, that population by definition excluded people who used a browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer, or who used Linux.

At least early on, even a single user could drastically affect rankings. When Rational Review was young, I suggested that its editors install the toolbar. They did. Soon we were in the top 50,000 sites.

Then one of my editors said he thought the toolbar was slowing his computer down. He uninstalled it, and we lost 12,000 positions in rank in a week. When I uninstalled it, we lost another 20,000 in another week.

Keep in mind that we load the site dozens, sometimes hundreds of times a day to enter our content. A normal stat engine would show a lot of hits, but would classify all those hits under one unique visit per day. Alexa seemed to consider every hit a ranking consideration.

Of course, they may have improved over the years — it’s been some time since I messed with them — but I’d discount their rankings as not especially informational.

  12. Catholic Trotskyist December 14, 2010

Wrong, AP3 is not a rising third party. White supremism is dying, and that’s a good thing.
The only third party that has a chance of rising and shaking up the political system is the Catholic Trotskyist Party, with its message centered on God and social justice. We are willing to coalition with all other partners, however, through numerous projects like those that currently have open threads on IPR.

    Gop.com #11,571

This is horseshit and the dishonest hacks at CHT know it.

    Compete rankings:
    Democrats.org #6,560

AND YET THE LACK OF ‘MOVING THE BALL’ FOR ALTERNATIVE POLITICS ………..

Among self-described liberals, his approval rating has dropped from 78 percent to 69 percent since November.

At the same time, his standing among independent voters — the group that propelled him to the White House in ’08 — remained dismal.

Just 39 percent of independents approve of Obama’s job performance, compared with 50 percent who disapprove. That’s down more than 20 points since Obama was elected.

Matched up against early 2012 contenders, the poll finds that if the election were held today, Obama would narrowly lose to Republican Mitt Romney, 44 percent to 46 percent — though that’s within the poll’s 3.5 percent

  16. JamesinUSA December 14, 2010

The American Third Position will be a political force to watch in the future. It has all of the right ingredients to reach out to not only racialist but the common white voter who’s beginning to see the writing on the wall for what’s in store for white American citizens.

Alexa is absolute garbage… use Quantcast.com or Compete.com to seek semi-accurate traffic figures.

  18. RedPhillips Post author | December 13, 2010

Mr. Winger, I think it is possible that the A3P just hasn’t gotten it’s act together on the ground yet. It has mostly an Internet presence at this point.

  19. Weaver December 13, 2010

    Mr. Winger,

I don’t know about California, but in Arizona:

In addition to reaching ordinary Americans through pamphlet distributions, Mr. Brandt has written local media announcing our existence. He’s opened a party bank account and filed with the IRS. Mr. Brandt also holds monthly meetings with local A3P members and has started the petition process for the A3P to gain ballot access in his state. Prior to the recent election, Mr. Brandt formulated A3P Arizona’s official positions for statewide ballot initiatives.

  20. Richard Winger December 13, 2010

I don’t think American Third Position is a political party. Its leader lives in California, but the group has not asked the California Secretary of State to list it as a political body, which is the first step for qualifying for the California ballot. Although Florida has about 70 qualified parties, American Third Position has not even written the letter to become a party in Florida.

The Boston Tea Party, http://bostontea.us/ formed in 2006 with a 1 sentence platform “The Boston Tea Party supports reducing the size, scope and power of government at all levels and on all issues, and opposes increasing the size, scope and power of government at any level, for any purpose.”

  23. Weaver December 13, 2010

    Mr. Perry,

    what is the BTP?

  24. Darryl W. Perry December 13, 2010

Just checked Alexa for the BTP: unranked US; 1,167,894 Global

I think the Alexa number for the LP site in Korea is correct. I go the the LP website daily. And we have an active LP Group based in Seoul but with members all over the country. Nick Youngers who started the Libertarian Party Donor’s Club is in Wonjoo. Our LP Meetup Goup has over 100 members. So, I think the Alexa number for the LP site in Korea is valid.

  26. Brian December 13, 2010

This is surprising. It is also frightening.

  27. Weaver December 13, 2010

    Haha, new version. My apologies.

    1. A3P: 16,418 US ; 62,033 Global
    2. GOP: 22,023 US ; 71,861 Global
    3. Dem: 35,473 US ; 49,863 Global (#1)
    4. Libertarian: 36,615 US ; 65,480 Global (Alexa mistakes the LP for a SK website)
    5. Green: 158,794 US ; 322,278 Global
    6. Constitution: 159,534 US ; 587,043 Global
    7. Reform: Unranked US ; 3,024,173 Global
    8. America First: Unranked US ; 4,606,302 Global

  28. RedPhillips Post author | December 13, 2010

As I wrote at CHT, the traffic rankings of official party websites are a bit misleading because you wouldn’t expect the official Republican and Democrat websites to necessarily be high because associated conservative and liberal websites like RedState or Daily Kos are where all the action is at. However, that is still a big number for A3P. But it also reflects another common observation. White nats and racialists of various sorts have a much stronger presence on the internet than they do in real politics.
