IPR now on Google News

Last week, publisher Austin Cassidy made a post detailing the progress IPR had made in its first ten days. We’d had 50,000 page views and 10,000 unique visitors, which was equal to the traffic generated by Austin’s old site (TPW) in its first six months of existence. Since then, our numbers have improved, and we’re now generating about 75% as much traffic (in terms of page views, 50% in terms of visitors) as the leading third-party news site on the Web — after just two weeks on the Net!

Now we expect that traffic to increase, substantially, as IPR has been picked up by Google News.

Cyberspace is certainly big enough for two third-party news sources and, hopefully, competition will spur better coverage from both sites. If you have any suggestions as far as how IPR could be better, please post your comments here. Please consider joining our Facebook group as well, so we can have an ongoing dialog about making IPR the best it can be.

I stopped visiting TPW when they removed me for linking here in a post. At the time, I was a blogger for both websites and had no interest in the Viguerie-Gordon-TPW scandal.

Ok, I have the myspace group set up and am trying to figure out how to get one of those link icon dealy’s like the one candidate sites use.

Mike, the facebook icon is up on the right. 🙂

I no longer visit TPW aka Libertarian Party Watch.I like getting the news on all the “third” parties.

Personally, I really like IPR more because it offers more diverse news. TPW is more Libertarian party only.

Not only does this site provide good, timely commentary (you guys totally scooped TPW on the goings on in Denver, IIRC), it is also well-designed. The fonts and colors are a pleasure to look at.

One suggestion I’ll make, is if there is a link to another site that would appear in the actual story, make the links show up on the front page. When I’m goin through, I would like to just open the comments and the link in a new tab, instead of swtich to a new tab that I opened the comments in, then clicking on the external link. I haven’t used WordPress in a while, so I don’t know if this is a setting, or part of the theme.

Are you guys gonna put that facebook icon up to lead to the group? After that, I could set up a myspace group for IPR and give you that icon.

We’re entertaining an offer from Alden Link, who promises to pay us in Confederate money.

    Congratulations, guys!

Now what you need to do is sell the blog to David Nolan under suspicious circumstances. Hilarity ensues!

Your rapid ascent to the top is very well-deserved. Congratulations!
