Kansas Reform Party hopes to nominate Chuck Baldwin

Richard Winger reports that the Kansas Reform Party is likely to offer the Baldwin campaign their ballot line, but it seems unclear wether they will be allowed to.

The Kansas Reform Party is ballot-qualified. At its recent state convention, the sentiment was strong for nominating Chuck Baldwin for president. Some kinks remain to be worked out, however. The Kansas Secretary of State seems to feel that a state ballot-qualified party cannot nominate the presidential candidate of another nationally-organized political party (even though that nationally-organized party is not on the ballot in Kansas). Clarification is being sought. Chuck Baldwin, of course, is the Constitution Party’s presidential candidate; he was nominated at the national convention in April 2008.

More.

UPDATE: Rumor has it that the Ohio Reform Party is also considering nominating Chuck Baldwin, who spoke to their state convention in 2004.

I find it funny that two supposed past Chairs of the Reform party are posturing as being the true leaders of the Reform Party at ballot-access. I am starting to believe anyone can proclaimsthemselves to be the National Chairman of the Reform Party/

I would imagine with the “scattered” Party in affect now the states who hold ballot access can decide.

Who has the ability to nominate a candidate for president; the state parties or national organization of the Reform Party?

I personally think ALL gays should donate to Chuck. That way when you attack his Party’s platform he will be better known to the general public. So go ahead and send him a Ben Franklin or TWO !

I was researching alternate media to the MSM last night and read on Wikipedia that the head man at TBN (the largest Christian network in the U.S.) settled out of court with a former male employee, who charged sexual harrassment, for almost half a $ million. So, see things are never as they seem! Sadly, it’s an old flaw (Do as I SAY, not as I do) .

Eighty % principle ! If you can agree with a candidate on 80% of the issues YOU should consider them! Even if they may belong to a Party that has members who believe themselves sinless and can “cast the first stone”…

Nah. Phelps (I refuse to call him Rev) wants the state to regulate marriage. He’d probably support the author of the DOMA instead.

Looks like the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka will finally have a candidate to support!

Any idea when these two possibilities will be resolved? If Baldwin’s campaign could save their resources for ballot drives elsewhere that would be a good thing.
