On March 16, 2013, IPR reported that 23 libertarians columnists launched a new website to cover news and views about and related to the Libertarian Party. The website, Libertarian Party News, proclaimed in a press release that
“the news hub considers itself the premier place for Libertarian Party news, candidates, announcements and more. An independent news outlet and not part of the party itself, the site’s sole mission is to assist the Libertarian Party, its members and candidates in getting their message of liberty to the American people.”
Recently, Libertarian Party News announced on its website that its domain name is now owned and operated by the Libertarian National Committee (LNC). From the website’s front page:
Please be aware that LibertarianPartyNews.com is reorganizing. Going forward, the domain www.libertarianpartynews.com will be owned and operated by the Libertarian National Committee. The subscribers and some of the columnists will move over to the new independent news outlet OppositionNews.org.
OppositionNews.org will continue to report on the Libertarian Party, its candidates and current events within the party. The LP is the largest non-establishment political party in America and is sure to dominate the headlines and reporting of the new site.
Stay tuned for further announcements via the Libertarian Party or OppositionNews.org.
The announcement means that GoldUSAGroup.com is likely the only news website covering the Libertarian Party exclusively. A third party that has an independent news website covering it is the Green Party, which is run by Dave Schwab and called Green Party Watch. While there is no news website covering the Constitution Party exclusively, the Independent American & Constitutional Review (IA&CR) reports on right-wing and constitutionalist minor parties in the U.S. Additionally several socialist third parties such as the Party for Socialism and Liberation and the Freedom Socialist Party maintain news organizations including newspapers and frequently updated websites with party news and views.

I think this is the one that is now “Opposition News”
George Phillies reports:
@5 The LNC FEC report for June shows they paid founder Marc Wachtler $1000.00 for a domain name, so that is how the LNC got their hands on the domain.
@5 Those were the first questions that ran through my mind as well. Would be interesting to find out.

Thanks for the offer, but I’m pretty swamped right now so I wouldn’t really have time to do that. Plus, they already cover pretty much everything, and a lot of the IPR stuff I get directly from GPW anyway.
@3 Apologies happily accepted. And you fixed it.
Any scoop on how this came about? Did the LNC buy the domain name from its previous owners? Was it donated to the LNC by its previous owners? Or did the LNC perhaps brandish its fraudulent trademark claim to extort it from its previous owners?
A third party that has an independent news website covering it is the Green Party, which is run by Dave Schwab and called Green Party Watch.
Schwab has been posting most of the articles there lately, but I don’ think he runs it. I’m signed up and post in spurts. As far as I know Ron Hardy and Gregg Jocoy are still the main guys, even though they’ve been pretty quiet lately, at least no one has told me otherwise.
Also, they are looking for more people to post articles. If you want I can put you in touch and get you signed up; they’ll be happy if even all you do is cross-post anything on the Greens that you post here which they are not already posting.

Sorry, I forgot about that one. I fixed the article and added it in.
“The announcement means that there is likely no longer any news website covering exclusively news from and about the Libertarian Party. ”
You missed
GoldUSAGroup.com and its precursor GoldAmericaGroup.com.
We have been here for some years now. Counting CMLC.org, we have been here for well more than a decade.
Regardless of the distribution channels, the main stories from these sites will spend
10% reporting on candidates
20% reporting on requests for donations
70% reporting on infighting within their respective parties
Same story different website.
