From Politico:
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is stepping up her rhetoric against the “Republican establishment,” who she believes has turned its back on Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), commenting that there may already be a third party in American politics.
“I dare say we already have a third party. We have the liberal party, the GOP machine, and then we’ve got the good guys,” she told Neil Cavuto on Tuesday on Fox News, while Cruz was crossing the hour and a half mark of speaking on the Senate floor. “That is the third party. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul … Those are the players in the party whom I will support.”

RTAA is most likely correct.

Let’s look back to the events in early January, 2012. Michele Bachmann withdrew from the New
Hampshire Republican Primary just before the endorsement of Newt Gingrich. Newt Gingrich
said Sarah Palin was on is short list for VP choice. The New Hampshire Union Leader endorsed Newt Gingrich, Todd Palin was not a fan of Ron Paul. He did not like Mitt or Huntsman,
Who did you back in the New Hampshire Republican Primary in January, 2012? I am not going
to hold Todd Palin’s trying to help get his wife on the 2012 ticket against him in 2016. Todd Palin
believes in the platform of the American Independent Party of California. It will be suggested that
the American Independent Party of California include Todd Palin in the primary for POTUS in 2016.
Yet he endorsed Newt Gingrich, Mark.
That’s a deal-breaker for me.
I do not know where Sarah Palin stands on third
parties now. But, the last time I visited with her
husband, Todd Palin, he was in agreement with
the platform of the American Independent Party
of California.
Mark Seidenberg, Vice Chairman
American Independent Party of California.
Wewelcome all those who break free from their Post Republican Stress Disorder, as well as anyone formerly of any party or no party, who want to join us in good faith.
I doubt Palin will try to form a third party on her own. She’s not the workhorse type.
At most, she’s hinting that other people should do the grunt work, and then when the party is in place and well-financed, to roll out the red carpet for her nomination coronation.
But more likely, I think she’s just blowing hot air to remain in the news. (Same as Jesse Ventura.)
Palin isn’t really suggesting the formation of a third party, but there is an implied threat here. Palin has hinted around about a third party in the past.
My question is how much of this is just posturing for the proles on her part, and bow much is real. I don’t think it’s out of the question that Palin has been genuinely wounded by the way she has been cast aside by the Establishment. Forming a third party would be a perfect way to screw them. Never underestimate what a powerful motivation that lack of recognition and appreciation can be for a narcissist. Just ask Walter White.
