Commenting at The Jack News article on prospective 2020 LP candidates for POTUS IPR owner Warren Redlich writes:
You left me out. The “Stop Wasting Money” campaign is coming. đŸ™‚
I haven’t asked Mr. Redlich whether he was serious, but the entire series is highly speculative so in covering this series of articles at The Jack News for IPR I have decided to expand the series, as a bonus to our readers.
Aside from his ownership over the last several years of Independent Political Report, Warren Redlich is notable for his 2010 Libertarian run for Governor of New York where he got over 48,000 votes, the closest that any LP candidate has come to passing the 50,000 vote barrier that prevents the LP from being a ballot qualified party in that state. Larry Sharpe, a current LNC member and another possible 2020 presidential candidate as well as runner up for the VP nomiantion in 2016, hopes to finally blow through that barrier in 2018. Other candidates for the LP’s 2018 gubernatorial nomination in NY could also still emerge.
Redlich served as an elected Republican official in Guilderland, NY, a city with a population of about 35,000. He has also been a Democrat at various times and as of the last time the subject came up said he was/is registered as a Democrat again, which he did to support Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primaries. In some of his campaigns he had the support of the Liberal Party and also sought the support of the Green and Working Families parties. Following his run for Governor, Redlich moved to Florida, where he as been living ever since. Since moving to Florida, and before switching back to Democrat, he was a member of the Palm Beach Republican Executive Committee.
Redlich works as a lawyer, website owner (IPR is not the only website he owns) and realtor.
Per wikipedia
Redlich’s most prominent political position is expressed in his motto, “stop wasting money.” He proposes placing a salary cap on all state workers limiting them to a salary of $100,000 or less, with those making over $100,000 having their salary cut at the first opportunity, while still protecting existing union contracts. He supports same-sex marriage, prosecution of corrupt public officials, ending corporate welfare, the elimination of some state agencies, and referendum approval of pay increases for legislators. He opposes a constitutional convention, calling it a distraction. He proposes limiting local governments to five sources of revenue. He supports the construction of the proposed Muslim community center two blocks from the World Trade Center site. He supports reforming driving under the influence laws and supports ending the War on Drugs.
And:
Redlich posted a blog post in April 2008 criticizing what he saw was an overblown reaction to Miley Cyrus’s appearance in Vanity Fair, suggesting that sexual objectification of females under the age of 18 has historically been accepted. In October 2010, Roger Stone, the campaign manager for Kristin M. Davis, encouraged an outside group to circulate flyers labeling Redlich a “public danger,” citing that post as a source, and encouraging people to “call the police” if they encountered him. The flyer received a rebuke in the form of an open letter from Redlich’s wife. Redlich later sued Stone for defamation over the allegations; as of 2017, the case is still in litigation. Davis, Republican nominee Carl Paladino and Paladino’s campaign manager Michael Caputo were all named as co-defendants (Davis was later dropped from the suit); Redlich is seeing damages of $20,000,000 over the flyer.
And:
In 2013 he published his first book, Fair DUI: Stay safe and sane in a world gone MADD. He earned a certain degree of notoriety for his approach to avoiding a DUI arrest, which involves placing one’s documents in a bag outside the vehicle and refusing to open the window, thus ensuring that an officer cannot use a smell test to detect alcohol.

I did post the comment, half serious, and I am thinking about it. 2024 is more likely.
Redlich is far more credible than some others.
I would not say they are completely random. Of course it is only speculation at this point – think of any past presidential election and tell me when a speculative list like this would have been remotely close to accurate 3 years ahead of time – but they are all names that some people have speculated about. What names would you add to the list if you were doing a series like this?
Is “The Jack” just throwing out random names? That’s not exactly credible. It’s like the Libertarian Enquirier.
